Just the one - Ruby.   And I'm pretty sure that's the way she likes it.

The two I have keep me very busy.  Is it like kids, the more you add, the more they keep each other busy?

Mine do not keep each other busy. I have one loner, one momma's boy, one daddy's boy and one who will love and purr up anyone who looks his way. Their personalities and all different and they will let you know what their demands are, loudly and now!

What is the difference between a permanent foster and a resident cat? Sounds like Henry is home! [emoji]128149[/emoji]
He is home and he will stay with me for the remainder of his natural life
but technically, he's not my cat. He's still the shelter's cat so they pay his vet bills. He had been there from 4 months to 8 years of age so they made this arrangement to get him in a home and make room for another cat at the shelter. I was going to adopt him but the woman at the shelter wanted to do it this way so I agreed. He's such a sweet loving boy. It took months for him to really become comfortable with his new surroundings but Lilith, Sophie and my dog Bailey all accepted him right away so I know that helped. I think that they knew he needed some encouragement and they gave it to him. As soon as he was adjusted, Lilith let him know who the queen of the castle is but she was very kind to him until he was ready to come out of his safe room and join everyone.

I remember reading your thread as he gradually gained courage and finally came out of his room. Such a sweet boy! It's great that his vet bills are covered.

It really is but he had not been socialized much at the shelter which is part of the reason why he was there so long. I saw his picture on the website and I saw those sweet pale green eyes. They said, "please come get me." I went to meet him with my DD and he curled up on her feet and started nibbling her toes.

He spent about 7 months in his safe room with 5 of those months with the door open. The girls and my dog went in and out of the room all the time but he just wasn't ready to come out. I went in and spent time with him but he didn't want to come out. Finally, he started lurking by the door watching everyone then gradually he'd come out a few feet then finally, he came out to explore. When he did that, I didn't make a huge deal out of it but praised him and gave him treats and he's been out with everyone ever since. He's very sweet and affectionate and very laid back especially in comparison to the high maintenance diva sisters.

Thank you. I hope he does too.

Henry's story should be posted in the "What's Your Favorite Thread(s)" thread. I'd link if I could but am on a phone. It's really a sweet story as Henry slowly gains confidence and emerges like a beautiful butterfly. I wish every cat could be rescued like this dear boy! [emoji]128149[/emoji]

Sorry for getting off thread...

Just the one.  I'm only allowed one where I live.  However, when she was young, we lived with my friend and my cat's sister.  My Hekitty was shy, and skittish, and really didn't relate to anyone, two or four footed.  Since we now live alone together, she's come out of her shell and has turned into a real diva.  This cat was meant to be an only cat.

I have 4 girls and it works well. Maya's the princess who doesn't associate with anyone unless necessary, Aria's a daddy's girl and Calypso's a mama's girl but they're best friends, and Zoey just wants to purr her head off to anyone who will look at her and get into trouble when she doesn't get as much attention as she thinks she should(read: ALL the attention).
