Anyone tried it? Our vet just gave me a Milk thistle&Beta Glucen supplement for cats, it is said that it improves liver and kidney function and restores the immune system.

I take milk thistle to help detox my liver.  Never knew it could be used for kitties.  What's the brand of the supplement?

I know milk thistle is given for liver function.  The vet had me giving a supplement called Denamarin when my kitty had fatty liver disease.  It's a combination of milk thistle and Sam-E.

Milk thistle supplement called Natur Milk Thistle&Beta Glucan Supplement but it is a Turkish brand, I'm not sure if it is available anywhere else. But I'm sure there are other brands for cats with Milk Thistle. After we began using it I'll share the effects here. I guess it is mainly used for liver function but also has positive effects on immune system and kidneys. I'll see.

My 10 year old Tonkinese has had another recent spike in his ALT levels so we are currently dosing milk thistle (.25 ml dropper 2x/day) and adding Clavamox 62.5mg tablet 2x/day for 10days. I alternate pilling him outright and hiding the tablet in Whisker Lickens which he eats happily from the floor! Dosing the Clavamox is much easier than the milk thistle, which has an awfully bitter taste. Vet has suggested when ALT is back to normal to try Denamarin because of the additional SamE benefits, but I keep hearing that the Denamrin pill is huge! Can anyone give me an idea of relative size of the Denamarin vs the Clavamox? Or OTC Dramamine?
