Pretty much enjoy my pets as much as possible, and try to focus more on their happiness and less on their health problems. Well, really only the one now with health problems.

Nope!!

Honestly; I get SO tired of seeing people post about their resolutions on Facebook.  For a few weeks they are all "Yay look at me! I'm so wonderful keeping my resolution."
Then comes the "Boo hoo, pity me." posts when they start slipping.
And then you finally you don't have to hear about it anymore.

If you really want to change or do something; your going to do it!  You don't have to do it at New Years.  Doing it for traditions sake might be what gets you going; but that motivation doesn't last.  Don't do it because it's New Years; do it because you want to.  I just don't think New Years provides the right kind of motivation for lasting changes for most people.

I probably need to step away from the computer for the next 3 weeks.

Also I should probably go have some chocolate or wine.

I have a few friends who have been making some great changes for themselves; going back to school, fitness, etc.  And it's great to cheer them on through Facebook.  They aren't the posts I find so annoying.  It's the resolution for sake of a resolution ones; the all talk and no follow through ones that get to me.  Resolving to be noticed for a few weeks.  Changes can be really hard!  That's who I want to cheer on.

Sorry for the vent.  It's just something that really annoys me!

No, I never stick to New Year's Resolutions. It's too cold to start a new diet/exercise more/take up a new hobby/quit anything in January. I have more luck sticking to things if I start them in the spring.

no, i don't make New Year's resolutions. what i do instead is set my goals (long or short term ones), then make plans to achieve them, and work towards them. i set goals when i decide to do something -- any time of the year.

Instead of resolutions, I'm actually doing something that I found on FaceBook instead...there are occasionally good ideas there.  I've found a big glass jar, and each day, I'm going to write down ONE good thing that happened to me that day.  Then, next New Year's Eve, I'm going to read them all and realize what a blessed year I actually had.
