Hi All

Looking for advice on some good quality wet food. My Gizmo is probably the most picky cat in the world, and the food that he does like gives him a very runny, stinky and (more recently) bloody stool. He was on grau wet for a while, which he hated and refused to eat without dry mixed in (applaws or Orijen, normally). Even then he picked the dry out, but at least I knew he was getting some wet. With that we had normal poop, but a lot of waste.

I then looked in to Feringa and GranataPet, so tried him on that (slow and steady introductions for both). That is when we got the stinky, runny poops again, and some blood and mucus in the stool. He's been on just chicken breast the last couple of days and is back to normal with his bowel, but it does mean I have a lot of wet food that is about to go to waste. Which is shame, as he actually wolfed this stuff down.

So is there any other wet food I can try that is also a very high meat content and grain free? I don't really mind the cost, if it means he'll be getting a better diet. The only common denominator I can think of is Salmon Oil, as there was some in the dry we were giving him with the Feringa and it's in all the Granata Pet. (I did try and give him just wet with the Feringa, but the boyf gave him dry in the mornings and I didn;t find out until after we had used all the cans up)

Any help would be massively appreciated. I did try and get him on raw but he was having none of it. Seriously, he is the most fussy eater in the world, and has the most sensitive stomach. His sister can eat anything.

Thanks

It sounds like you're needing very simple foods. If he's fine with plain chicken, Thrive Complete is definitely worth a go. It's very pure, and they have a plain chicken breast variety. It's not the cheapest food, but my guys go crazy for it. Catz Finefood is also well worth trying - none of the meat flavours contain salmon oil (though the meat/fish blends do), and they've just brought out a limited ingredient range (called Purr) that looks ideal for sensitive tummies.

Nature's Menu meat flavour pouches are all fish free too, though you can't get those from Zooplus ;)

Good luck :vibes:
