Bittersweet.

I lost my kitty soulmate this year, but we brought five lives into our home that weren't there at the beginning of the year. Two of whom will be having their first new years ever!

Lost - exhausting - stressful - special.

The first three because of chronic health problems - both mine and for my soul mate dog, who was diagnosed with CHF.

Special because Asha came into my life. She's my soul mate cat, is incredibly bonded to me, and she brought me here. Without her, I'd never have found TCS.

The last six months of this year have been downhill all the way.  With one shocking death in the family and another family member in a very deep depression and diagnosed with breast cancer, well it has been a terrible half year.  I can't wait till this year is over and pray 2016 will be much better for my family.

I wish that for everyone.

2015 was much better than 2014, with the exception that my Aunt passed away unexpectedly.  She was 87 and in poor health, but it was following emergency surgery, so it was unexpected.

On the good side, both our kitties are healthy, I'm healthy, and my husband is recovering well from successful prostate cancer surgery.  And I still have a job (I was a bit uncertain with new company buying us out).

Sad and depressing: losing Rick's father to brain cancer was not easy on any of us

Stressful and exasperating: trying to deal with Rick's mother and her incessant constant demands are slowly making us all crazy. It seems that as soon as we put out one fire, there's another one in the wings. Not to mention dealing with Jackie and her issues.

Exhilarating and just plain awesome: the ACDC concert in Canada, followed by the baking class at King Arthur in Vermont, and then seeing Mark Knopfler in concert in Pittsburgh. Amazing. Just amazing.

But all in all, we are ready for 2015 to be finished and we're looking forward to the new year and all it will bring. And may your New Year be filled with health and happiness!

Stressful for me.

We lived with my husbands cousin as a roommate the first half of the year and I did not like him at all. In January we purchased a new construction townhouse so we dealt with issues with that until we moved in July. My grandmother passed away suddenly in June and I was unable to see her. My oldest cat Chessy was diagnosed with diabetes in February and CRD in August, and my other cat Mia has been battling severe IBD the past month.

On the plus side my husband and I both have stable jobs and are healthy, we now own a house together, and we were able to take a couple mini vacations this year.

Quiet.  Hopeful.

There were no major upsets to deal with.  My disability case is moving along.  Looks good for getting it.  That really doesn't change my income at all, because they will cut my Social Security by the amount of my disability, but it does mean that my Medicaid will continue until and after I qualify for Medicare.  That will be a huge boon to me!

Hopeful because I am back in regular contact with my sons after a fairly long estrangement.  My fault, I was not a healthy person emotionally for much of their lives.  Finally got the help I needed for ages, I am a reasonably normally functioning human being again,  and we've re-established communications to the point that there are even talks of coming to visit me.

Stressful due to a lot of issues going on around me that I can't do anything about. We lost our last cat this year and that is a hard thing. We have had cats for 33 years and now find ourselves without even one.
It is too much of a change.

I am looking forward to the New Year, hoping and praying that some things will improve.

On the positive side, husband and I are both well. We have good health and take no medicine. We are blessed abundantly above and beyond all that we could ask or think.

Stressful, scary and fearful

In April my fiance lost his job of 10 years. He was out of a job for over a month. He finally got another job and it was a six dollar pay reduction. Because of getting so behind we were almost evicted in July.

Because of all the stress I started to have palpitations really bad. Thankfully it cleared up on its own.

With all of this going on my 3 year old started testing for Autism. We got the genetic testing back and he has a depletion on chromosome 15. The particular deletion is known to cause autism and other delays. We will get the final diagnoses on January 15.

I am really praying for a better 2016.

2015 was such an improvement over my horrible, nightmarish 2014 that I have no complaints. Plus early in 2015, Chula and Paul joined my family and have brought me all kinds of happiness.

...with the cats...
pretty much an average year here. there were good things and not so good things, happy times as well as sad times, frustrating situations/challenging things that i dealt with/took care of, and as i always do...i survived it all. i started 2015 with a strong positive attitude, and i finished the year with the same. i believe i've become stronger as i've moved through 2015 too.
