I got dewormer for roundworms from no nonsense neutering and its been a couple days since the first dose. I haven't seen any worms in his stools (I know he has them though since he hacked one worm up). Does this mean it didn't work? He doesn't have runny stools anymore and he seems quite healthy, though still isn't quite gaining weight yet. The soonest vet appt I could get for him is Jan 9th. Oh and the dewormer was the good stuff Pryantol pamote (prolly spelled it wrong though).

One dose isn't going to work like magic
Some adult worms may be killed but others may not be plus there are eggs and larvae that may not be affected at all. Follow the package instructions or vet's instructions for how long the dewormer needs to be given. The entire worm life cycle needs to be broken and that takes a bit of time. Several doses spread over so many days / weeks is typical. Don't try to double the dose or dose more frequently. There are reasons why medicines have specific dosing instructions, safety for the pet being one.

I never noticed any with my kittens. Even the vet's office didn't notice them upon their visual inspection, but after they sent the sample out then they were discovered.

I'll admit, I didn't really want to see any. Just the thought had me eeked out.
