I've been looking into pet insurance. Any one have a particular company they use that they like. I can afford about 20.00 a month. I just don't understand terms like "reimbursement".

the couple that I checked don't cover elective procedures. So they won't cover neutering? I'm still saving up for that. Im on a strict fixed income and it's not a lot.

Thank You

Call different companies and ask. I would imagine that neutering would be covered by some, if not all. Reimbursement is how much they will be pay you back.

If you are in the USA there is one place to go to, and if you;re in another country tell us.  www.petinsurancereview.com it reviews all the major companies, its how i found my pet insurance and some of the big companies are really bad.  This is all user review based.

By reimbursement, all the companies pay you back after reviewing the claim, none pay up front.  but the good companies pretty much cover everything except wellness visits and maybe dentals, my company, Petplan just has an annual cap, about $20,000 per year.  But yes, you need to be able to pay 100% up front and then get reimbursed, so you need a good credit card or similar.....

Or you can put $20 in a cookie jar every month :-)
