My vet gave me an Omega 3 supplement for my chronic kidney diseased cat....I used it for a while then the bottle got all sticky..threw it out..I had asked my vet if I can give human Omega-3, but the receptiontist said it has to be for "cats"

I read not true..Stick a pin in and drizzle into food...but how much? how often? with each meal?

Antioxidants play an important role  to help maintain blood flow to the kidneys..What do you think?

Not as familiar with CKD but I don't see why you can't give your cat Human grade supplements (including fish oil), as long as you verify there aren't any questionable added ingredients.

Our cats get the same probiotic I take and are doing great on it.

There are quite a few good fish oils that come in capsules, which might help the sticky/rancid problem of using a bottle.

I think the key may be....will you cat ingest a human Omega-3?  I think it's fine to give one, but as pointed out above, it should probably be free of other supplements.

I've got a kidney cat also, and been looking for an Omega 3 that she will willingly take
.  I'm actually looking at using Green Lipped Mussel powder, or maybe their oil.  I used to buy Feline Naturals because it contained Green Lipped Mussels, and she ate it, so the taste didn't turn her off, but I've just been remiss in buying either the oil or powder, 'cause I hate to waste money.  Guess maybe 'the boys" MIGHT eat it if Callie doesn't.  Of, if not, guess it wouldn't hurt us humans to take it instead of our existing huge fish oil capsules

I tried krill oil but Psycho would not touch it. I found Arcanatura on Amazon made from plankton and he will lick it out of his dish without food. He would not eat the GMP either. Hope this helps.

How interesting!  I think I might try it.  My girl is just SO PICKY.  So even detects 1 tiny drop of Vitamin E in her food (another story) .  Don't know if this will work, but if not, I can probably get away with giving it to the other cats
