Cat brushed against peace lily

She jumped up next to it but she didn't eat it and there's not pollen as it hasn't bloomed any actual lillies will she be okay?

Just brushing against it shouldn't hurt her but you should put the lily somewhere she has absolutely no chance of reaching. Knowing cats, that means out of the home just to be safe.

Although peace lilies don't cause the renal failure more poisonous lilies do, they can make cats quite sick if eaten. This goes for leaves and flowers so you really don't want her nibbling on it even if it's not yet in bloom.

Yes I'm giving both of them away as we have two ones on a top shelf the other one was in the bathroom but I'm definitely getting rid of them now. Thank you for the advice

They eat them to get sick, but I have noticed my plants give off a sticky substance that could stick to the fur and be licked. My big plant is high, and they can't get around it. My cats have shown absolutely no interest in any of my plants, but maybe because they chew on grass outside. You might get them some oat grass at the pet center, it is something they love and it will give them something to chew on and will not harm them. All the luck!

I'd probably also wash off the cat where he rubbed against it. Having gone through and losing my baby to acute renal failure recently (albeit for other reasons) I'd probably be giving mine a full-on bath. And the lilies wouldn't make it in the house.

Yes I washed her off before she started cleaning herself in the bath much to her dismay! I'm so sorry for your loss it must have been tough for you as I know how much they mean to us they're part of the family. We're getting rid of them no for definite we haven't before as they're my mums and she refuses to but I told her in the end she would rather in the long term not have any rather than a hefty vet bill and not to mention the possibility of losing the cat from renal damage.

Yeh she's fine playing around as usual with her sister showing no symptoms and it's been 12 hours so I'm sure she'll be fine but keeping an eye out still thank you for asking!
