Hah. 90 percent of them were for my niece. She's 2 1/2 years old, so this was the first Christmas that she really knows what's going and has been really excited. I was up at 1 am helping my brother put together a Disney castle for her, but it was worth seeing how excited she was when she woke up and saw everything under the tree.

Anyway, Bud didn't quite make out like my niece, but he did get an array of treats -- two big tubs of Temptations (chicken and seafood medley) and some fancy moist treats that are kind of like the cat version of beef jerky.

How about your kittehs? Was Santa good to them this year?

Paul and Chula are waiting for a cat tree as a belated Christmas present, but they did get treats and lots of laser play today so I think they are happy.

It sounds like Buddy had s good day, even if he didn't get his own castle. Your niece is the perfect age for Christmas. It's so much fun when they are that age![emoji]127876[/emoji]

What a precious picture.  I love Buddy's expression and the view of him peaking out from behind the tree and presents.  So adorable.

Indeed. It makes me feel guilty for not giving my mom any grandchildren yet lol.

But the funny thing about taking care of my niece is realizing the uncanny similarities between a young cat and a toddler. I've read that adult cats have the emotional intelligence of toddlers, and that seems about right. Both of them even have the same response when they're doing something they're not supposed to be doing and I tell them to stop. (Nicely, of course haha.)

One thing I love about Bud (among many things) is that he "gets it" with my niece. He seems to fully understand that she's a child and that she can't read his body language or clues that he's agitated. So if she takes one of his toys or backs him into a corner because she wants to pet him, he finds a way to extract himself from the situation and he never, ever has his claws out, even the one time she pushed him off the couch. Of course, I keep a close eye on them when they interact, but I'm very proud of Bud for being gentle with her.

I hope you guys had a great Christmas/Hannukah/Festivus/holidays!
