My cat has been okay these past couple of days, has been eating using her box. today she was standing by her tree and randomly started hissing. i checked all her paws and she seems fine. but when i put her down she limped away and is hissing. Not sure what is wrong, I dont see any injuries, could she have just jumped wrong?

Should i rush her to the vet (if i can find one on xmas eve) or wait to see what happens.

Many times minor sprains resolve on their own but if she is still limping after christmas or it gets worse then i'd look for a vet.

My cat was limping quite badly about 2 (?) weeks ago. Could not put any weight on it...a day later he was able to walk. But I felt and noticed no obvious trauma. I would only worry if there seems to be progressingly worse or new symptoms.

Thanks to you both, i will keep an eye on her. i hate seeing my baby in pain. i've locked her in my room and am keeping an eye on her. She just seems to want to stay under my bed.

My vet doesnt open until saturday, if anything i can take her to an emergency vet clinic. But i will watch her in case she heals on her own.

How old is kitty ? Does she ever go outside? I just wanted to point out the don't give her any  pain relievers (unless approved by your vet), many are extremely toxic to cats

I was just researching pain relief for cats online, its like you read my mind. lol Kitty just turned 4 years old this month, and never goes outside.

Her pain started this morning, she had breakfast, everything was normal. I went to give her treats, she ate them, but when she jumped down from her eating area, she randomly started hissing, and moving around in confusion. I checked her feet, nothing on them. When i put her down she was limping.

From what she has let me see the pain seems to be from the back right leg. But she rarely lets me see her shes hiding under my bed. I locked my room and have her little box and food in my room.

its been a day since her limping. she spent yesterday and half of today on her cat bed that has a heat pad on it. shes no longer limping and today she finally braved jumping back onto her cat tree.

Should i take her to a vet as a precaution? my vet is open tomorrow finally.

Hi well you aren't going to ever find me telling someone not  to tale their cat to the vet but since she seems to have recovered it doesn't seem like a bad thing to keep observing her and if the symptoms recur, then off to the vet she goes.  It sounds like a mild sprain....

Her yearly checkup due, so i took her today anyway. they felt her leg and its seems everything is okay. The vet said it was likely a mild sprain. lol i figured she was fine, but i wanted to be sure.

Its very good that u checkup him because it could have been agressive tumor. My cat who died 4 days ago had Aggressive  Bone tumor..Osteosarcoma for months and his first symptoms was limping leg and we really thought it was something minor... We decided to wait for weeks but it was really not good idea because it had already metastasis in his lungs and he didn't have any changes anymore..Vet prognosis was not good. The bump was not even a big at that time.

im so sorry for your loss.

How did the vet finally realize there was a tumor? The vet checked my cats breathing, her heart rate, and she spent a lot of time feeling her whole body for any weird lumps or injuries. There didnt seem to be anything. We didnt do xrays, but i will if the pain comes back.

Just want to know what i should look out for.

They did normal exam like how you described and  sadly Vet did found a  bump in his leg.. They took Xray and blood work after that... The result was hopeless but you should not worry anymore because your Vet as you described didn't find any bumps.
