Hey everyone so last week I noticed when I looked in the litter box their was white poop in it. It seemed like it was maybe just the outside of it, wish I would have taken a photo but I was wondering if I should be concerned? I have 2 cats one female 3yrs old and other is a male 1 year old, both are acting completely normal .I mean my 3 yrs old cat pukes sometimes but usually That has hair in it or its right after she's eaten and I always write it off as eating too fast just cause theirs some food chunks in it, sometimes the puke is just liquid like she's trying to get something out but it won't come out. Should I take them both into the vet? I don't really believe in taking my animals to the vet unless it's for their shots or something like this should come up. I've been watching the litter and haven't seen it since and like I said all have been acting very normal . I'm just nervous to take in my female River because she does NOT like other people (due to my boyfriends stupid friends not listneing to me). Any advice is appreciated! TIA.

Hello, sorry that your cats arent in good shape :(

Have you noticed their diets change? I believe your cats should go to a vet, and if you don't, you should get pet insurance as it does come in handy. If the cat's feces is just normal with a white coating, then it can possibly be mucous. If its all white, she may have ate something white or her kidneys may be damaged. This can be cause by parasites. I recommend you take them to the vet though.

Good luck! :)

Hi I found this on-line

"Acholic feces – or changes in fecal color – are caused by an absence of bile pigments in the intestinal tract, making the cat’s stools pale, gray and putty-colored. This normally indicates complete bile duct obstruction associated with primary liver disease"

I would take kitty to the vet ASAP.

What kind of food are you feeding- what brand, and is it grain-free?  Do you feed both wet and dry, and how often?

White poop is bad...very bad, indicates a liver problem--jaundice...

If you cannot decide which cat it is coming from I would take them both to the Vet, ASAP!

You do not want to wait with Liver issues.

If you saw this 2 weeks ago; that is a long time to have white poops.

I hope one of the advisors can review this and get back to you. It is Christmas Eve day, so it is a difficult time...

All I can add that if you have not seen it happen since then, it may possibly be a good thing; but, personally, I would not chance it.

If, as you said, it is just on the outside, it may be mucus, and the number of conditions that can cause that are huge... from slight to serious.

Probably time for a vet visit.
