Just wondering all you cat parents out there, do you let your cat in your bedroom and jump on your bed at night? My 6months old persian has always sleep in my bedroom with me (but under the bed), started last week he is obsessed to jump on my bed and sleep with me at night... But he doesnt stay still, he would be walking on the bed, grooming himself etc.. Also the bed is kinda high for him so he would always hit his face when he attempts his jump....I put him outside the bedroom for the first time last night and he kept pouncing on the door trying to come in, it kinda breaks my heart....

Yup, the poor boy is getting older and since my bed is relatively high off of the ground, I have to put a chair next to the bed so my little buddy can join me. Even though he tends to clean himself a lot and move around, It comforts me when he is on the bed

They are free to sleep wherever they want. It's their house too.
Lilith sleeps with me more than Sophie and Henry do. They visit for a bit but hardly ever stay all night. Lily often does. She used to come and go during the night but a couple of weeks ago, I had a bad stomach bug and was in bed for the better part of 4 days. She stayed with me most of the time, curled up beside me. Since then, she sleeps with me a lot more.

Griffin sleeps in bed with me.  Usually he will either sleep on the second pillow beside me, or sometimes he'll curl up between my legs.  I have had nights where he gets playful and starts pouncing on my legs in the middle of the night, but I haven't minded too much so far.

I had a friend sleep over once, and Griffin decided he'd rather sleep with her on the couch, than come to bed with me.  I missed having him with me.  He was back in my room bright and early to request breakfast though, haha.

A 6-month-old will naturally want to play on the bed, but he'll settle down in time.

Every cat we've had has slept in bed with us, from kittenhood to old age. We have low nightstands that can be used as "steps" to the bed, but they haven't been used much.

Rose sleeps on my pillow every night. Catness sleeps at the foot of the bed on my husbands side when he works nights. So yeah I usually have two in bed with me every night. If they are not in my bed they are in the room somewhere.

Yes! All of my cats have access to my bedroom and bed if they choose to sleep there. They sleep wherever they want!

Yes.  And in the winter time, when she gets cold, she crawls under the covers and curls up beside me.   There's nothing like 4 cold feet touching you in the middle of the night.

Sinbad sleeps on my feet at night. He waits until I'm settled into my standard sleep position, then jumps on the bed and curls up across both my feet.

Tempest would like to sleep with us, but currently she is still too afraid of Sinbad to actually do so.

Yes, my cat sleeps next to me. It's so sweet your boy has "taken the plunge" to sleep on your bed!!

We had trouble with our kitten when we first got her since she didn't want to stay still during the night. Eventually she just settled down and stopped bugging us. During the winter my cats not only sleep on the bed, they sleep under the covers. Last night, my fiance had to kick them out since they were hogging the bed and he couldn't sleep. They snuck back once he was asleep and took up less room so they wouldn't be a nuisance to us while sleeping.

If the younger cat (now 9 months) doesn't sleep with me, I can't get to sleep. I've gotten used to falling asleep with the sound of a kitten purring. She used to sleep against my neck, but now she settles on either side of me.

Both Sasha and Kyubi sleep in the bed on and off.  Sasha used to sleep on my pillow, leaning against my head.  It was terrible for my allergies.  Sometimes her weight would gradually push me off the pillow and she would take it over!  Now she likes to sleep by my side as a little spoon.  More often, however, she prefers to sleep in her cat bed that is right next to my bed (our mattress is on the floor).  Kyubi has taken a liking to sleeping on our legs on top of the blanket.  He's fairly tolerant of our fidgety legs.  It actually makes it a little hard to get comfortable and have enough blanket.  I was just wondering how people were able to sleep with big/ medium sized dogs!

As a side note, Kyubi used to smack the bf in the face when he's sleeping.  It would wake him up, so Kyubi wasn't allowed to sleep with us anymore at the old apartment.  He has since grown out of that bad habit.

Honestly, sleeping with my kitties is one of my favorite things about sharing my life with them. Since I was born I've had cats share my home. My first slept under my crib according to my mom. :)

Yes, I do let my cat sleep on my bed at night throughout summer and winter. If you do this be sure to put a drink of water in the room where the cat/kitten can get to it. Also in the morning let him out to do his business or you could get a nasty surprise in your room. Of corse there is the other option of putting the litter box in the room, but for me letting my cat out works best.

Hope this helped, If you have any more questions about this just ask,

Thanks, robynandcakecat

I have one cold drippy wet nose (it's normal for my Aby) and one with four paws that will claw me if I move too much
I've accidentally pushed my DMH off the bed before. I was stretching my legs and then heard something land on the floor with a thud
She was fine, probably just annoyed that I rudely woke her up.

Thank you all for your input!!! I will try to let him go on our bed tonight and see... Problem is him moving and my husband couldnt fall asleep.. But we both feel guilty for shutting him out last night :(

He does have a step by the bed but i guess he thinks he is superman and can jump on the bed without the step which he obviouly cannot... So at night i would hear a loud bang here and there due to him smacking his face

Both of my cats sleep with me. Thankfully they sleep through the night without moving around much. One does like to crawl under the covers though, and it always scared me because I think he's going to suffocate!

My male cat is a drooler (when purring) so that's usually a bit... wet. He'll sleep with his head on me and I'll wake up with a drool spot on my arm.

of course mine do! there's nothing better than waking up with a bunch of snoozing kitties surrounding you. none of my 5 wake me up anymore, they are all very well behaved on the bed.
