Hello, I'm kind of new here, and actually made an account to see if someone could help me out.

I got my cat, Honey in 2005, adopted her as a kitten. In 2013 we started to notice her acting strange, peeing places she shouldn't be, but most importantly there was blood in it. We took her to the vet and it turns out that she had bladder stones, and a lot of them.

We had a surgery scheduled, but they weren't able to get every last one out. She still has at least one in her bladder. She started acting like herself again after recovering from her surgery.

Earlier this year, some circumstances arose and we adopted a Chihuahua, and of course she didn't like that very much, but she never really started misbehaving. Now, she pees on the same spots on the couch on a regular basis unless we spray it was with some type of repellant, which I hate doing.

Could this be territorial? Or maybe something else? And as a side note, no blood in the urine at the moment.

She definitely needs to go back to the vet for another check.  First step is always to see if it's medical, which it could likely be even without visible blood.

If a cat pees somewhere they shouldn't you always need to clean with an enzyme cleaner.  Otherwise they associate the spot with a place to go.  If it's behavioral, a feliway diffuser in that room could help her to feel more comfortable.

Please take your kitty in for a re-check asap; inappropriate elimination is a definite sign that something is wrong. Please keep us posted.
