I'm happy to report that my feral project cat, Callie (The Male Calico!), is using his spiffy heated cat condo after a few years of work to get him socialized...to me at least! I was afraid that he would avoid it but his trust has greatly increased and he comes running when I call him! :)  Callie was very skittish and would run into the woods as soon as he saw movement...even if it was people inside the house. Last summer he allowed me to touch him while he was eating and he has progressed greatly. He now greets me with a meow and has been spending time in his heated condo when it gets cold. I have the door propped open to the condo as I didn't think he would use it if it had doors that closed behind him...I'm hoping to teach him to use it properly as the weather has been very mild, so far. The below zero days aren't too far off, so I hope he learns quickly. It is one of the heated Coleman cooler based condos, with 2 doors. It's pretty snug inside, but I think he will like that as it is cozy. No TV in it yet!

I love these stories, @JMarkitell!  Looking forward to hearing more about your lovely (not-so- feral?) boy.

Thank you for the compliments. Normally we expect temps of around 32F (0C) or much less at this time of year...they are expecting it to hit 70F on Christmas day! I allowed the doors on Callie's condo to swing down, trying to get him used to using the swinging doors before it gets too cold. I figured the warm weather would give me a chance to allow him to get used to it, but it is so warm that he doesn't want to go into it! Have a great holidays!
