Please help-cat was neutered

My cat was neutered this last saturday and I thought the way it looked when i got him back was horrible . Its been a few days and it looks much better but on only one side looks like a scab and its dark no blood maybe just very light wetness. Im worried and calling the vet tomorrow.. But i cant sleep... Does anyone have experience with this? Does it look infected ?? He is eating drinking and acting normal .

A few months back, my cat got neutered and had these same sores. My vet told me it was a side effect from the anathesia that they used. It might be different for your baby. It doesn't look infected and if he is acting normally it should be fine. He could have licked himself raw from either irretation or soreness

This looks very swollen to me, though I am by no means an expert. Can you show this photo to your vet?
