Someone posted this article on our Animal Aid Facebook page. I thought that it was excellent, especially with our "disposable pet" society. People often warn not to give cats or dogs as Christmas presents. This delves into small mammals and respect for their lives as well.

Love it. I grew up with gerbils and can say they definitely weren't easy to care for. I loved each of them as individuals. People need to remember that animals are animals no matter how small. They deserve a good life as much as a cat or a dog.
