It sounds like the dog frightened her badly. She should not be outside or around dogs inside at all right now.

It also sounds like the kittens may have dropped lower in preparation for birth.

The brownish discharge concerns me. I think you should call your vet. Brown discharge is not normal. The kittens may be in trouble, so please have your vet check her ASAP.

A few things -

Do you know for sure that she's not injured? Cats are very good at hiding pain. What was the attack like? I would take her to the vet to be safe.

She should not be allowed outside if she is heavily pregnant, and should remain inside until the kittens are weaned. You are also not looking for her butt to dilate, but you will see her vagina dilate when she is in active labor.

Can you answer my questions above in post 121? She may really need to see a vet.

How big is the cage? Does she have access to a litter box, food, and water? She needs to be comfortable, especially if she is pregnant and injured.

I agree that you need to call the vet. The discharge is abnormal. On top of that she seems unsettled and I am concerned that she doesn't feel safe in her cage.

Why do you have her in a cage? She should have a nest set up in a private place such as your bedroom. She needs to be able to move around. It sounds like she's in labor and needs to be close to you for comfort. It sounds like she needs to be out of the cage.

Please use this thread to post your photos and comments.

With the rippling abdomen and discharge she most likely is in labor. The dilated eyes means shes in pain, or frightened. If you can't afford a vet, at least call one and try to get some advise, or call your local shelter, they may have someone who can advise you. She needs a box, or something with a place she can hide, she's been badly frightened. You have to calm her down and reassure her, a scared new mother may harm her kittens or be too afraid to care for them. I'll keep myou both in my thoughts and prayers, please keep us posted on how things turn out!

It does sound like labor and she seems most calm with you near her. Stay with her if you can and keep us posted! You have some good advisors at your fingertips! Sending positive thoughts and labor vibes to your mama kitty :vibes:
