So many folks I personally know are anti-resolution, but I don't care what you call it. Call it "goals" if you want, but we all have them.
So 2015 in review for me...
We lost Lucky in November, which has devastated me beyond words. But, this year, we took in five more lives into our household. We got the kittens and Sugar (a black Chihuahua) in July, and Honey (another black Chihuahua) and Penelopy a couple weeks after losing Lucky. Penelopy was adopted for many reasons, but one of them being I felt it was the best way I could honor Lucky's memory - by giving another kitty a forever home. Another reason was that the boys really missed Lucky - he was the only one that would play with them - and Penelopy, after a few days of hissing and growling by Oliver - has fit right in with them.
My resolutions for 2016...
Spend more quality time with my cats. Try not to focus so much on their illnesses when they are sick. Sara has early CKD so I know we'll be dealing with that. I'm just going to enjoy my time with her though. I will enjoy her personality coming back out (now that we normalized her T4 again). I will watch the boys grow up, although they are so big now I'm not sure I can imagine them getting any bigger. I think their father must have been a panther. I will enjoy all the things they do as they get older. Oscar follows Penelopy's lead all the time - decided I'll call him "Monkey" as in "monkey see, monkey do". He sees Penelopy do something, so he does it. I know Oscar will ultimately be the top cat though. He's still a bit young for the role.
But while I want to spend more quality time with my pets, I also need to start getting out again. After Lucky got sick, I got into this rut of just having no interest in doing much outside the house. So, I will start forcing myself to go out again. I kinda am now, sometimes. It's really more on a day-to-day thing, no planning of anything because I am apt to change my mind at the last moment.
Oh, and pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. But not so many that I'm spending more time taking pictures of life rather than living it.
