I can't decide which floor to get- I like them both. Not sure if one will be too dark- or the other will be too bright. Both same price and quality. Kitchen is bright with lots of sun streaming through

Which do you like and why?

I did place an order for the darker one.. but I am wondering if I am making the right choice!

I think I'd go dark. I'm not keen on white floors anyway, and the white you're looking at seems to be the wrong shade anyway - a little too cold. If you prefer a light floor, I'd think something a little warmer would be better. Just my :2cts:

I have dark floors.  I am not a dark floor kind of person, they came with the house.  I have noticed that scratches show up more because the top of the flooring is dark, but under neath is lighter wood.

I would go with an oak or  pine shade myself.

I like the darker as well. Since your cabinets are dark, it will match, so to speak. As long as there is a lot of sun in there like you said, it shouldn't be too dark.

If you wanted to brighten up the room since the cupboards are dark, then I'd go w/ the lighter, but a bit warmer, like Columbine said.

i'd choose the lighter colored one. it ties into your back splash well, and it wouldn't take anything away from your strong (and very lovely) kitchen cabinets coloring. and like @Handsome Kitty mentioned, scratches wouldn't show as much.

I like the dark, as well.  And a high contrast will make the room appear smaller.  Just a thought.

have you considered a cork floor, I think the colour would go nicely with your cupboards. I really don't like the white and the other one might be a little too dark.  A nice oak coloured floor might work too. But no one ever accused me of being an interior designer

I am specficallly deciding between these two floors pictured above.. I can't stand brown tones in the kitchen (or anywhere.. though brown tone floors in living rooms are cozy), which is why I redid my kitchen to get rid of the browns- lol, I appreciate the suggestions of other colors.. but brown tones are not for me. I love the grey tones in kitchen. Thanks again for those suggestions!

cork is too expensive and I don't think it's fitting for a kitchen?? they are nice, but not for me!

I walked into my kitchen and the sun was pretty much blinding.. so that sort of makes me want to knock out the white floors, lol

Just seen the 4th pic (I think you added it since I posted earlier?). That gives a clearer context that the close ups alone. Seeing that, I think the white floor could work very well - I think I'm now 50/50 on them! Sorry :anon:

Lol...tough one but I love the (number 1) white grey?!

It's because your cabinets are darker it will brighten up a bit the kitchen area?!

Well, it's my humble opinion only :-)

I personally prefer the lighter one but it's purely a personal preference.  I like the contrast with the dark cabinets.  If the cabinets were light then I would like the dark floor.

Ha! Thanks everyoen for their opinions!

After sitting on them both for a while, and seeing just how bright my kitchen gets, I've decided the darker one would be best.. it'll absorb the light more.. The white just really reflected the light too much.

Down the line when i can afford to, I am going to get a lighter counter top, maybe like a white marble or something, that'll break up the darkness. I can always get a lighter-colored table and such too.

Can't wait!!

Please don't get angry.....I don't like either one of them. I'm so sorry, but I just don't. The dark floor gives way too much dark with your cabinets. I'd be scared of having a dark kitchen. And it looks like you have dark drapes, too. If you have a lot of light, then it probably won't matter so much. But I lived with a dark kitchen for almost 30 years and it made me crazy. That's my big thing. So it's a personal issue with me more than anything. I never want to work in a kitchen again where I have to turn lights on at 2:00 in the afternoon just to see what I'm doing. As long as your kitchen is nice and sunny, then the dark probably would work.

And the lighter one seems to be the wrong color for the kitchen overall. I agree with Columbine is that it's a "cold" floor.

I'm sorry, Draco. I wish you well with your choice!

Not angry at all! I value everyone's opinions. I do see what you are saying.

I am not loving the lighter one at all anymore. My kitchen get so bright, I get direct sunlight from those doors. i want to absorb some of that sunlight, not reflect more.

We'll see how it comes out in the end!

I just wanted to say that you have a beautiful kitchen! You should have lots of fun decorating it. You can even be a little daring and take some risks if you want because you can always change it later on! [emoji]9786[/emoji][emoji]9786[/emoji][emoji]9786[/emoji]
