Hello all. For almost two years I have been visiting this site regularly, but never joined. Until now. I first found this site after my cat Serena kept throwing up big chunks of mystery meat from her food (9 lives) and I began to wonder if I was taking care/feeding my babies right. Needless to say I stopped feeding her 9 lives.
Serena was MY first real cat. We often had cats when I was growing up and I took care of my aunt's and grandfather's cats when they didn't really seem to care much about them, but she was mine. As soon as I turned 18, I took my birthday money and used that to rescue Serena. That was 12 years ago. She is a bit of a angry cat sometimes and, from what I can remember, her mother was thought to be feral and she was found behind a dumpster. She is still my sweet little girl...even if some of my family may call her the devil. :lol3: She sleeps next to my pillow and sometimes likes to snuggle under the blankets with me. She uses her rough tongue on me often, but I endure the pain and enjoy the show of love. Two years ago she weighed 20 lbs, but thankfully I have weaned her down to 13 or so which isn't bad for the big cat she is. Now she has what my mother calls a "skirt" that swings back and forth when she runs. Every time I see it, I think about getting her something to strap it up and keep it from touching the floor when she climbs the stairs.
My other cat Caleb I got a few years later when he was just 3 days old. My stepfather was friends with the town animal control officer and just happend to pop in the day someone brought him in saying the mother abandoned him. I "fostered" him and now almost 9 years later he is still my little boy. He comes and suckels on my shirt and kneads me when he is feeling lovey. And drives me crazy the rest of the time getting into trouble. He is a dry food addict which I finally converted to wet food and went from 17lbs to 12.
They are my world and both have a special place in my heart. I am so glad I have had this site to make sure I am giving them my all.
