I have an older cat, almost 14 yo. Two weeks ago I had to take him to the vet and found out he had a bad bladder infection. Since he is a very nasty kitty at the vets they had to sedate him using some kind of gas. He did great and there was no side effects. I took him back today for a follow up and he was cleared of any infection- Yeah!! He had to be sedated again and seemed to be his normal self when we got home. He ate lunch with no problems and about 5 hours later he started throwing up. He has continued to throw up throughout the evening andwas not able to keep his dinner down. Could this be a side effect from his sedation?

It could be a lot of things unfortunately, but it's very possible that is one of them. I would take him back to the vet to be checked out - sans-sedation this time, if possible.

Is he drinking water at all or is that coming back up too?

I have been soaking his food in water so he can get some liquid back in him. He has now stopped throwing up so I think it was from the sedation
