Four days ago, I had a young female feral tested for FeVL &FIV...results negative so the cat was vaccinated with FVRCP, 1 YR Rabies, FeLV at one visit.  Due to ear mites the partial dose remaining of revolution was also applied same day ( whole dose was not given at first 2wks prior due to unknown weight). Weight 4.6 lbs, temp 102.0.

Four days later...significant loss of appetite, limited water intake...ate tablespoon of tuna fish with added water this afternoon.

This is a feral cat so the visit caused significant stress...very good tech but she had to maintain neck hold and body hold tight. I have to say the vet and tech were extremely good and limited the amount of stress but you can imagine the young cat was definitely stressed.

I plan on either keeping the cat or finding a home if the cat becomes hand able ...I can pet it but not hold.

So there's the story...anyone else have issues with vaccines and appetite...4 days...very small urine and stool elimination daily...words of wisdom anyone? Thanks!

That much vaccines at once do takes a toll.  Even if ferales are supposed to have an excellent immune system.  But some cats are really down for several days after vaccination.   Having three different vaccined and deworming..

Keep her calm, feeling safe. Keep her warm - the sick ones are always freezing. Make sure she get water - pedialyte is idealic here.  Baby pedialyte without flavor is good.  Or some homemade variation with glucose sugar-equivalent.

If necessary, you should forcefeed that pedialyte, she must have enough with fluids.

The positivie is, she is now feeling very sick, and you are helping her.  THIS should hasten up the socialization process!

Stefan makes a good point. The attention she needs while feeling so punk is an excellent opportunity for her to learn you are a good guy.

I might try some KMR (kitten replacement milk) and Gerber chicken baby food too. Most ferals can't resist either. Unflavored Pedialyte mixed in will help.

No regular milk, though. Goat's milk if you can get it.

Keep us posted. That many vaccines at once is too much. I've argued with our vet about that a couple of times. He always said "why bring them in twice?" But I think that even though it is a pain to bring the cat in more than once, I do it because I want to space the vaccines out some.

Update...she drank limited water this morning before work but nothing else...so tonight I bought KFC...she got up immediately and ate about a tablespoon...its a start. Hopefully salty chicken will make her thirsty too.  I just wanted something in her tummy.  I am picking up 2 cans of science diet a/d moist food...this helps most cats if she'll eat it! Side note...she is inside the breezeway with plenty warm blankets. Thank you for the helpful suggestions. I am hoping I work with her more and be able to handle her. I can pet her but she is not pleased...with time
