So, I live in small town, Michigan. Therefore I don't usually have the option of buying at Trader Joe's. However, I'm going to Detroit metro airport tomorrow to pick up some friends, which leaves me some extra shopping options.

So, how is Trader Joe's canned food? Do they have any grain free? What's the price point? If it's not grain free, it is comparable to Friskies pates?

I feed it to my ferals. I think it's okay, i wouldn't feed it to my inside cats but it's fine for my ferals. I do think its comparable to friskies, but i think it's better than friskies. They only have 3 flavors a chicken and rice, turkey and gilbet, and some fish flavor. I buy both the chicken and the turkey, but they both have some fish as like the 4th ingredient. It's not grain free, but it's good for the price. I live in AZ and I pay .79c for a 5.5oz can.

I like it and I would feed it again to my cats.  I think all of the points have already been covered, but just wanted to add that they're pate (in case it wasn't clear on the packaging).

I will probably not get it. It sounds like it's lower quality and higher priced than 4Health grain free canned food. I usually get the 4Health grain free turkey and giblets for $0.69 per can at Tractor Supply.

It's decent food for the price, though a bit high in carbs because of the rice. I think it's fairly appealing to cats: our previous cat ate it even when she was sick, which was a big plus. (My recollection is that it's stinky!)

I realize that it contains grain; however, it doesn't contain any by-products and I really like that aspect of it.  I only feed the Chicken, Turkey and Rice variety and my cats go NUTS for it, more so than Wellness, Dave's, Canidae, etc.  It's not a constant but it is in my rotation.  And at 79 cents a can you just can't beat it price-wise.

Crazy4Strays, I think you're right!  I just checked the Tractor Supply website and their grain fee does indeed look to be better than Trader Joe's.   I'm going to check it out this weekend.  Thanks for the head's up!

Its definitely lower quality and higher priced than Tractor Supply brand. 4Health is grain and byproduct free and only $0.69 per can. Plus, Trader Joe's has fish in it, whereas 4Health turkey doesn't.

I like that it doesn't have by-products in it either, which is why i choose to feed it to my ferals over friskies. I don't have a Tractor supply near me, which is kind of a bummer.

I guess that I finally found a cat related positive to living in the country. Many businesses don't survive out here. The closest pet store is 20+ miles from my house and in the opposite direction from where I normally grocery shop.

But there's two farm supply stores within a mile of each other in our small town. Tractor Supply's vet clinic is great too. I got my cat's microchips for $15 each.

BTW, I wanted to say how lucky your ferals are! There are probably very few ferals that get canned food.

I am lucky that we can afford to take care of so many animals. A couple are more like strays, and if something happened to them I would take them to the vet so i feel obligated to try and give them the best food possible

So . .. I went to the Tractor Supply place tonight and got a ton of 4Health Grain Free Turkey for my own cats and also the cats that I feed at work.  For those who don't know, I'm a multi-site apartment manager and I feel as though I'm drowning in feral/strays.  They are all over my properties.  As for the food, my two cats, Atticus and Thirteen, ate every bite.  I'll try it out on the feral/strays tomorrow.  My personal cats eat primarily Frankenprey but I do rotate wet cat foods.

Crazy4Strays, I really do appreciate your giving me the head's up about this food!  It's an excellent quality, ridiculously low priced food for rotation.

Oddly enough I just found a tractor supply about 20 minutes from me (for some reason it wasn't coming up on Google maps) I bought all the 4health grain free turkey and giblet they had. Better priced and quality than Trader Joe's for sure!

I'm having a slight issue with my Tractor Supply 4Health 5.5 ounce cat food.

The cans are not full.  I tried to take a picture but it didn't come out.  I thought the first few were a fluke but they weren't.  My digital scale shows that, on average, their "5.5" ounce cans are running about 4.40 ounces.

Sometimes over a quarter of the food is missing.

Have any of you experienced this?
