Just curious to know whats on your list! I'm always interested to know what other people like feeding their cats and what your cats like to eat. I got my cat about 2 months ago and I am still testing different brands to see if he likes them. So far, he isn't a picky eater at all!

Here's mine (currently still testing out new foods):

Weruva chicken (original and packs)

Natural Balance

Canidae

Nulo

Sheba

Halo (spots stew)

tikki cat

Also I just took this picture of Ghibli and he is a spazz. Happy Holidays everyone!!

4Health turkey and giblets, Wellness chicken, Fancy Feast, Friskies Pate, Halo rabbit and garden greens, Nature's Variety Instinct lamb, Blue Wilderness Red Meat feast, Tiki cat chicken, Tiki cat sardines, Whole Earth farms duck pate, Merrick duck pate, Whole Earth Farms beef pate, Dave's Pet food (both chicken and beef and chicken flavors).

Some new ones that I'm trying on my current Chewy.com order are Halo quail and garden greens and Red Barn Naturals chicken stew.

I prefer to rotate foods as much as possible. Every brand has pros and cons, so rotation helps minimize the negatives of any one brand. I also like to provide a good variety of protein sources.

My cats aren't very picky, so I've had no issues with ordering cases of food that they haven't tried before.

One of mine is very picky. Feral outside gets Friskies pates, Sheba pates, chicken soup for cat lovers(it was on close out at big lots)Mine get Merrick pates or limited ingredients pates, duck or chicken, red barn tricky chicky stew, pride rockstar rabbit, earthborne chicken jumble, fancy feast liver& chicken or chopped grill pates in classic, nutro natural choice chunky chicken loaf, Iams purrfect delicasies turkey & liver. For treat purebite freeze dried chicken in dog size bag or Merrick chicken kibble in yellow bag. I buy everything at chewy. Com in bulk after I am sure they like it. Variety keeps them from becoming too picky. If they turn their nose up I crumble some Purebites on top and poof its eaten.

Therein lies the trick! Variety with assists from PureBites.

Our canned rotation has most of the same brands: Weruva's Cats in the Kitchen (plus occasional splurge Quick & Quirky), Tiki (luau and Gourmet Carnivore), Merrick's LID, occasional Hound & Gatos lamb, Soulistic chicken dinner in gelee and chicken/pumpkin delicacies, and Nutro Natural Choice.

Ghibli's very cute!

Ghibli's adorable!

We mostly feed raw for our 2 kittens (1 has IBS and seems to do better on raw) but our list atm is:

Canned:

Ziwipeak Rabbit/Lamb, Lamb, Venison/Fish

Nature's Variety Chicken, LID Turkey

Tiki Cat (chicken w/out eggs, they actually don't like this that much so will phase out)

Nutro Natural Choice Kitten (Chicken flavor, they looooove this)

Next thing on our list to try is Bravo Duck/Turkey

Raw:

Primal Beef, Rabbit, Pork, Turkey

Nature's Variety Chicken/Tuna

Darwin's Turkey, Duck (phasing out, Darwin's seems like a great product but our girls just aren't loving it)

Next thing on our list to try is Radcat Turkey

I tried that the rabbit version, thinking my cats would love it because they love raw rabbit so much.  The problem is that Halo Impluse seems to be VERY VERY dry and there is practically no juice or moisture in the food at all.

My cats actually had a hard time swallowing it so I added some water.

Let me know what your cats think about it and if the quail is as dry as the rabbit.

I put a bunch of water in the rabbit and my cats ate it well. I'm prepared to do the same with the quail.

I'll let you know what my cats think, but they're probably not a good indicator. I have one cat who likes every wet food and one cat who likes most wet foods.

I fed halo impulse rabbit and also the quail and guinea hen flavors to our girls (both fairly picky) when we first got them earlier this year and they both loved it. At that time I was new to being a cat guardian and didn't realize how dry it was compared to other foods. Definitely think adding some water or broth would help palatability/digestion.

Unfortunately, it is. I tried both out on my furkids and I couldn't believe how dry and crumbly they were. I bought a can of each at Petco. Both were rejected. They wouldn't even taste them with or without some Pure Bites crumbled on top. I couldn't blame them. They didn't look very appealing (most canned foods don't but this one made the others look like something from a 5 star French restaurant) Adding water did nothing. They don't like when I add water to anything.
Then again, they don't like Halo anything. Spot can keep his stews and stuff as far as they are concerned.

Foods in our rotation include:

Friskies pates

Fancy Feast pates

Sheba pates

Wellness cubed, sliced and minced turkey and chicken (new to the rotation and well received)

Merrick pates (both the regular and LID poultry varieties)

Merrick Grammy's Pot Pie (previously tried and rejected- now they like it- this should last until I buy a case of it
)

Nature's Variety Instinct chicken and LID turkey

Pride by Instinct chicken, duck, lamb and rabbit

Soulistic Good Karma and Harvest Sunrise

Nutro Natural Choice - all varieties in the poultry flavors

That's actually not a bad thing. I no longer purchase Spot's Stew, not because of the cats' tastes, but because it has garlic powder in it, which is not good for cats.

Friskies:

Turkey and Giblets

Mixed Grill

Fancy Feast:

chicken and liver

NIV:

LID Lamb

Duck

Rabbit

As an aside, I still give a very scant amount dry NVI 95%protein.  Now this may be a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway:  can I add water to the dry food and make it a gravy with soft kibble?

I've actually never tried Soulistic or Ziwipeak! I have heard both mentioned quite a bit on this site. Also, I've surprisingly never tried Fancy feast (which I heard is grain free). Are all FF grain free? There are so many varieties.

Soulistic is Petco's house brand and it's made by Weruva. Only the Fancy Feast pates (classics line) are grain free. My cats like both of these a lot. The FF turkey and giblets is a favorite and the Soulistic Good Karma (shredded white meat chicken in a broth like gravy) is the one they like best from that brand. The Soulistic brand is very fish dominated with just a few that don't have any, unfortunately. It's good food though. If you have ever fed Weruva Paw Lickin Chicken, the Good Karma is almost identical to that.

The big knock on ZP is that it can be hard to find and it's expensive. It's excellent quality and they have some novel proteins (Lamb, Venison). I think'd be great if it's in a rotation with other foods.

As long as it's palatable and not left out for long, I don't see why you couldn't (not an expert though).

Somewhere north of Mexico and on the ocean.
Cats in the Kitchen (Weruva) with

Frick a Zee

Fowl Ball

Funk in the Trunk

but she won't touch any of these any more (they're shredded, I think that's the problem, as she wouldn't touch the Soulistic pouch chicken or Puka Puka Luau Tiki shredded chicken)

then I tried

Double Dip (she wouldn't go near it)

and Lamburger-ini (I'm having problems getting her away from it!)

We do Tiki Cat

it's either Manana Grill or Hawaiian Grill (honestly, I go by colors, and I can't remember)

Hana Luau

We've been experimenting. I think she likes pate.

I saw someone mention Soulistic Chicken in Gelee, and bought it, but it has carageenan. :p

next are some NVI flavors--hope they're pate. I'm not really okay with the clay...

and I got Halo Spots Stew. HSS seems okay except for the vegetables (there are a lot of them). The veggies are a complete waste--I feel like I'm throwing money away. But she eats it--and seems to actually like the different flavors, including the beef (which I've never seen her go near before). If the HSS gets her off the fish, it's a start.

Wild Calling--bought two cans. That was the most disgusting stuff I've ever seen. She ate some of the rabbit, but not the chicken (again!) I can't stomach it...There was something in the flavors that gave me pause--I don't think it was in the chicken--but I can't remember! And--it's too expensive!!

My list to stay away from:

grain

carageenan

clay

vegetables

and fish (I'm trying to find others to rotate in--she'd eat fish for the rest of her life if it was up to her)

Trying to find a liver-free food, if possible

I'm sure there's something else, but I can't remember.

I tried some Radcat, but she wouldn't go near it. I heated it up in the microwave. Is it possible to mix in canned food? How long can I leave it out before I have to throw it away?

We might try Hounds and Gatos, but I'd have to order it, and don't want to buy cans that will go totally uneaten.

Why is this so complicated??? Even some Weruva flavors have obvious veggies in them. There is a whole market out there for this stuff--it can't be that hard.

I wouldn't heat up raw, but yes you can mix canned with raw. The best way to entice them to eat raw is to crush up some treats on top. I have a huge stash of treats i put on top to entice my cats to eat. How long you leave it out for depends, really. I feel comfortable leaving raw out for a few hours, especially in the wintertime, but if you heat it up (which again, I don't suggest because it promotes bacteria growth) i would not leave it out for very long at all.

What about the Merrick LID? I feed both the chicken and turkey and I think they're excellent quality. They're both pate, but the chicken is a little more of a juicy pate than the turkey.

I have so many and it changes all the time.  Right now I have on hand:

Canadae, Dave's (a bunch of different flavors), Evo, Fancy Feast, Sheba, Trader Joes, Newman's Own and Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Some from my past rotations include: Tiki Cat, Wellness, Wellness Core, Ziwipeak, Instinct.

Sasha and Kyubi aren't too picky and I like to give them variety.  Also, it's nice to stock up when something goes on sale.
