Swellerific. I have 12 people to buy gifts for, and I can't get to the stores. I don't trust things to get here from online on time. Due to home improvements and having to buy a new car, I can only afford $25 and under for each gift (DH and I can't afford to give each other gifts this year). I have NEVER left my shopping and decorating this long, so guess what happens--the flu. I had a flu shot the week before I got sick--what are the chances of that? (The flu shot is a "killed" virus, and it cannot give you the flu.).
I planned to make ugly Christmas monkey cowboy chaps from sweatpants for DH's uncle, who collects monkey stuff. Last year, the coordinating sweatshirt was a big hit. I did start the chaps a few weeks ago, but they require hand sewing to attach the ugly stuff. I made his wife a tacky Christmas hat last year, and planned to make a matching handbag. That won't get done; I 'll buy her something nice, I guess.
I really should not complain. One of the guests is only 25, and has terminal cancer. I really want to make Christmas special for her this year, and would love to buy her a really comforting, soft, plush fleece throw blanket. I'm also worried that I could pass my germs on to her. She has to wear a surgical mask in order not to contract germs.
