Swellerific.  I have 12 people to buy gifts for, and I can't get to the stores. I don't trust things to get here from online on time. Due to home improvements and having to buy a new car, I can only afford $25 and under for each gift (DH and I can't afford to give each other gifts this year). I have NEVER left my shopping and decorating this long, so guess what happens--the flu. I had a flu shot the week before I got sick--what are the chances of that? (The flu shot is a "killed" virus, and it cannot give you the flu.).

I planned to make ugly Christmas monkey cowboy chaps from sweatpants for DH's uncle, who collects monkey stuff. Last year, the coordinating sweatshirt was a big hit. I did start the chaps a few weeks ago, but they require hand sewing to attach the ugly stuff. I made his wife a tacky Christmas hat last year, and planned to make a matching handbag. That won't get done; I 'll buy her something nice, I guess.

I really should not complain. One of the guests is only 25, and has terminal cancer. I really want to make Christmas special for her this year, and would love to buy her a really comforting, soft, plush fleece throw blanket. I'm also worried that I could pass my germs on to her. She has to wear a surgical mask in order not to contract germs.

Oh no! That's horrible. I had the flu for my birthday this year and that totally sucked little green worms too (and I'm stealing that now!). I hope it doesn't last very long. If you have Amazon Prime, I can vouch that things are arriving in a very timely manner! I had one thing arrive a day early even.

Whatever you do, feel much better very soon, just for your own sake.

about Amazon. Their shipping timeframes are quite accurate. I often get stuff early, too. I got a book the same day it was shipped (yesterday) since it was coming from and going to Florida.

ETA- I hope you feel better soon!! I had a stomach virus last week and it was miserable. Drink lots of fluids and rest.

    That is bad luck.

     Lots of hope and
that your having had the flu jab will help you kick off this evil virus quickly (which is what they say it does), so you can both make a start on that Christmas prep' and also stop having to worry about any risk of infections for that guest of yours.    Rest up, try not to panic too much and pamper your self as much as you can to hasten up your recovery - that is the most important thing, being around for Christmas day well and receiving your friends and family is what makes it, not the presents.   So things might not manage to pick up enough to do everything you had planned but as long as you are well it can, and will, be a special day.

Seeing you haven't been on site for a couple of days now.  Really hoping you are starting to feel better, taking good care of your self and also others about to help:  not layed up with full blown flu.
