Hi everyone,
I have a heavily pregnant girl. I'm unsure exactly when she is due as she was not my cat. She was a friends who once she thought she was pregnant was going to have her put down. I couldnt let that happen so I put my hand up and said I would take her. Her nipples were pink first week of November and I started being able to see her kittens moving a week ago today in her belly. Can someone tell me around how long before birth you can see them as well as feel them?

The official you can feel them move is 2 weeks before delivery. But some forumists swear they felt them 3 weeks before, so the answer is 2-3 weeks, partly depending on how used to feel on their tummy you are.

The teats gets pink quite exactly on day 21. Its 5 weeks from there, so that would give 1 week more.  Which seems right here.

But the exact day is  impossible to know, even with a good count.   Anyways, better somewhat later than too early - unlike humans.

Fleece or flannel good to use in the bedding for kittens.

Thankyou for replying. She is quite large and in the last 2 weeks she seems to have put most of her belly on.since I have taken her in I have watched literally a hundred videos on cat birth etc. I have her a kittening box which she hates and I suspect shes going to have them under my bed as that's where she always sleeps.I have a type of kit ready with hand towels, towels, dental floss, medical scissors etc just in case. Ive read so much In hopes to be prepared.
I'll attach a photo of her

I believe she is still quite young herself. My vet said she was only about 1. I couldnt confirm with said friend as I have cut contact with her. I'm a huge advocate for spaying and got a little upset with her that she was going to put her to sleep because she was silly enough not to get her spayed.
Yes ive been googling and youtubing to my hearts content to be ready haha

I swear I'm spending 90% of my days staring at her trying to look for signs of labour [emoji]128514[/emoji]

Yes, a little can be normal.

What time did the blood start, and how much is it?

Does she appear to be in labor?

Vet is a good idea. They can do an x-ray and check for heartbeats. Hopefully she's okay. Let us know what the vet says and how she's doing.

That was my concern too. Hoping the kittens are still alive. Did the vet think they might be?

You'll be able to pay off the Care Credit in small monthly increments, and your cat will be spayed.

Please keep us updated. Prayers for your cat and her kittens in the meantime!

I asked for then to spay her at the same time. I never want to go through this again. I dont understand how people can willingly not spay their animals .
Just got a call from the vet . 3 healthy little boys. 2 ginger and 1 black and white

Thank goodness the vet was able to save all her kittens!

Cats are usually spayed during a C-section.

Do make sure you take her home with pain meds.

Do you pick your cat up tomorrow?

Sometimes the cat's milk comes in following birthing. Sometimes a shot of pitocin can stimulate milk production. Ask your vet about this.

Will you have to begin formula feeding?

Where I live it's 2.40pm and I pick her up at 5 pm. I will have to bottle feed them. I will ask about the pitocin but the vet said she doubts she will produce anything
