It's not my cat but my in-law and I question her veterinary skills. I'm just trying for more ideas to throw at them in hopes they chose a different vet. She did draw abdominal fluid to check for FIP.
It could be many things. If the cat was presenting with enough bloating to look pregnant and it was ruled out along with FIP and worms, what did the vet suggest?
A second opinion would be a good place to start if not satisfied with the answer from the fist vet.
Could the cat be pregnant? Do you know if the vet checked? They can do an X-ray to see if kittens are present.
That's what I find strange. She didn't suggest anything and didn't seem worried. I'm trying to talk them into seeking another vet.
To the question of her being pregnant..she was fixed but ran away...was gone for a month ..did they get back their original cat is the big question. They seem to think so I do not. Crystal always hissed at me and I couldn't pick her up...the new Crystal lets me pick her up, comes to me and actually purrs.
So checked the cat again yesterday and felt kittens moving and also checked for spay scar. Not the same cat. This one has no scar. So my in-laws got more than they bargained for and should be having kittens around new years I'm guessing.
