Today I found a little boy kitten in my yard. He is probably 2 months old. The weather is very cold here so I think of adopting this kitten. He is very friendly and approached me at once. I fed him and put in a safe place. And the  interesting think is that our previous cat got lost the same day one year ago so now I really want to take care of this kitten. I just have never dealt with stray cats so please tell me what to do next. I can only take him to a vet in three days. What should I do before taking him to vet? Should I bath him or give some medication?

Thank you for rescuing this kitten.  I would not bathe him unless he is very very dirty.  You could take a warm damp washcloth and gently wipe him down if you need to.  I would not give him any medication until you get him to the vet.  Be sure to get all shots, tests and schedule his neuter.

In the mean time, feed him kitten food and fresh water.  Wet food is best.  Just be sure it's made for kittens since he is still so young.

Keep him confined in a small space.  Watch out for areas where he can squeeze himself into such as under beds, under furniture, in cushions of chairs/sofas.  Get on the floor and think like a cat.  Small kittens can squeeze into very small places.

Be sure to have a litter box set up.  If he has an accident you can sop up the pee or take the poop and bury it in the box.  This will attract him to his scent.

Also be sure to keep him inside.  Having him inside is best for his saftely.
