We're a creative bunch here, no question. How do you express your creativity?

I'll go first:

Right now I'm mostly drawing and crocheting but in past years I've played piano (no room in my apartment now) and written short stories and science fiction.
Back when film photography was a thing (remember that!) I did a lot of black and white photography and darkroom work. When I had a house, I designed and planted a garden.

What about you? I know we've got some real artisans and musicians here! Include a photo of your work if you want!

Music (viols these days, but used to play recorders, baroque flute, crumhorns, shawm, piano and a little modern flute), colouring, jewellery/ornament making...and I've just rediscovered sewing (both machine and hand) and am playing with making bags and cat toys...and a jumper for my greyhound. I've consulted on a children's book with my dad too.

I don't typically consider myself to be creative. However, I have written so many poems and stories over the years. Most of my poems (which were all on paper) got destroyed when my bedroom flooded back in 2005, I'm still sad that I lost them. I mean years worth of poetry. Ah well. My muse left me ages ago so haven't really been able to be creative in a long time.

I guess the other way I like to be creative is with food. I like to make salad with all sorts of ingredients. Like what I call "rainbow" salads (with ingredients from all colors of the rainbow).

I think these answers are great. Creativity touches everything. I love the Rainbow salads and sewing is definitely creative. And I agree that cleaning can be a creative endeavor. My ex used to have some very creative ways to hide the mess before guests came over[emoji]128512[/emoji]. (I know that's not what you meant Macha 143 and do know keeping house can be very creative.)

No, but I'm on my phone so don't get many ads. Maybe this is the universe telling you it's time to write that novel we all have inside?

I am getting alot of ads Margd, maybe 4 or more not very sure I have to check again carefully. It took me too much time to post and sometime stay there for awhile and losing all that I typed. Last month I paid double (bills) it's very expensive for me. It's better your phone, maybe it's cheaper. I am watching how much I am going to pay this month and if it's the same I am going to cut it.

I'm kind of all over the map on things I do.  I do a lot of crafting, including stenciling anything the holds still long enough, I used to paint and draw a LOT, and am actually thinking of picking up some Bob Ross dvds and supplies, something that I can do quickly and easily, and just have fun with.  I do plain sewing fairly well, although I don't attempt extremely complicated patterns, and I love counted cross stitch.  I wouldn't mind trying my hand at quilting if I can find the pattern for "Drunk Love in a Log Cabin."  I write very short stories, mostly about my insane family, and the occasional poem.  I used to play the guitar, but arthritis in my hands brought my level down so far that it no longer makes me happy (autoharp, maybe?  Hmmmm...).  I cook odd things.  OH OH OH my neighbor and I are going to order pysanky supplies and start doing eggs.  That should be so much fun!

...with the cats...
good question! and it made me think.

i used to draw, do some beading/make little bracelets and necklaces, and enjoy exploring other (art) mediums. i also enjoyed coming up with meaningful concepts for tattoos for myself.

these days i'm way too frugal to be having more tattooing done. and one way my creativity comes out is in finding ways to accomplish goals, 'thinking outside the box'. i've found quite a few unusual ways in which to achieve goals of mine. another thing i do is to find ways to either construct/make or use something not usually considered for items/things i need or want. for example, i wanted some planter boxes for on my patio but didn't want to be spending as much as pre-made planter boxes cost. so i found plans for constructing planter boxes online, then bought the materials and constructed them myself. i also recently configured my computer set up -- that was complicated for what i was wanting to do, and took quite a bit of research as well as good advice from a kind soul here at TCS. my new computer system is set up just the way i wanted it to be, and i'm loving it!

What I really love to do more than anything is ceramics. I have a degree in Fine Art and my major was ceramics, but unfortunately I don't have access to a wheel or a kiln at the moment.

These days I make stuff out of wood for the cats to climb on, indoor kitty highways and outdoor cat trees, I garden, sew and take photographs. Oh, and I do some very fancy manicures when I'm feeling especially girlie.

My imagination is going overtime seeing cats react to a spinning potters wheel and wet clay!
