I saw the test results, but didn't see anything about a culture? Just a pic of a slide?

Kudos to Stephanietx for bringing up pseudomonas. Unless the vet specifically tested for it, I don't think it would be found, if what I see on the Internet is true.

I saw something on the Internet from a cat owner whose cat was diagnosed with pseudomonas. Her cat sneezed several times a day and the discharge was described as "thick, waxy, and grey".

Safe to say, I think you should toss the collidial silver idea away for the moment.

Someone else pointed that out. I thought the culture was the same as the cytology report but I guess it is totally different. Sorry for the confusion.

Reading through the cytology report I agree, it looks like there is a bacterial infection so worth talking to the vet about why they think about further test cultures for bacteria not yet screened for.   The report does also say that the infection present could be primary or secondary in nature so I'm guessing this is why the vet says MRI or CT scan would be their next move.   Have you talked through with them potential costs and whether they have any payment plan options?

Poor Mr Kiddie with the sneezing, it looks really uncomfortable and distressing for him.   It must be hard to watch him go through it too.

I would definitely have a culture & sensitivity test done to look for an underlying infection.  I think I'd do that prior to the MRI because it's less costly and might just give you the information you need as to the cause.  I'm surprised the vet hasn't already done this.

Zander had an issue with her nose when she was very little. She has, since then, been sneezing a lot. Her eye on the side that had her nose issues tends to drain sometimes. It's nothing to be concerned about since her vet said it may happen and luckily her vet tech lives behind me so if I have any issues I'll call her.

Update on Mr. Kiddie:
Today we had an appointment with a new vet to get a second opinion. Mr. Kiddie did sneeze while we were there so we will be sending that booger in for a culture and sensitivity test. The vet said we will wait for the results but the next step may be a rhinoscope but we have to find a vet that has a scope that small. The vet also pointed out in the xray (that is posted above) that the one nostril looked cloudy and that could mean a few different things.

For now, we wait, and hope that maybe we will find an answer.

Hopefully the c&s will show something and you'll be able to treat it with medication.  Keep us posted on the results.

That sounds useful @ekopischke  with getting something sent off for culture.  And a rhinoscope should be less costly than scan / MRI and give pretty instant information so fingers crossed they can find somewhere close that has one.

Well the new vet called yesterday to inform me that the sample we got from his visit last week was not a good sample. (Instead of putting him under we thought maybe we could send in his snot that he sneezed out during the visit.) So they asked if I would collect a few more samples. So after work yesterday I got a good booger sample and in the morning I got a good booger sample and during my lunch break I was able to run to Vet and drop them off. They said they would get the sample out today, so basically its day 1 again for getting the results.

The good news is that the vet is working to find a cause and is being persistent.
