I am so very guilty of that, too!  The other thing, and it isn't something that I have any control over at all, I have tinnitus, it's multi-tonal, and I have 50% hearing loss in one ear, and 65% loss in the other.  I tend to have my TV fairly loud, and I say, "What? a lot.
I have to admit, that is one thing I get accused of quite a lot! Constantly asking people to repeat what they said ... "What?"

I have a 30% bilateral hearing loss and I have a difficult time hearing certain tones. My sister has been an ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter for over 30 years and she is forever complaining because I haven't accomplished becoming fluent. I know enough Sign to communicate in an emergency. I swear, when she talks to me she whispers on purpose! When I ask her to repeat what she said, she Signs it!  Needless to say, she gets 'flipped off' quite a bit! LOL

I like to talk during movies (at home, not the theaters).  I usually watch movies with the BF so it isn't a problem since we both like to talk.  However, sometimes I'll watch with other people and forget to hold back.  Usually I try to give them a heads up.

Oh and I also chatter my teeth too, sometimes to the beat of the song i might have stuck in my head. Not loud enough for others to hear but they sure can see my temple and jaw muscles moving as I sit there, quietly, with my mouth shut tapping out only a song I can hear...
I probably look crazy like I'm about to go postal or something haha :D
I thought I am the only one who does this!! I've been doing it since I was a teenager. :lol3: :lol3: My teeth are like mini bongo drums to me. Depending on how I chatter the teeth, they produce different tones and beats only hearable by me. :lol3:

(Woooo that makes me sound like a catch! :dead:  Hey there boys   )
*slides up*

I talk over people sometimes on the phone. The weird thing is I didn't start doing this until I got a cell phone. For some reason, I miss the breath cues that people are finished or starting to speak. No problems on a land line.

@FhiCat- omg I thought I was the only one too! Our teeth are like bongo drums! I can't even remember when I started, it was probably when I was a teenager too. I was also in a drum line for 4 years while I was a teen and I have a plethora of beats and rhythms now engraved in my gray matter lol. I have to try and catch myself sometimes when I'm in public, but it's hard cuz I always have a song stuck in my head!

I'm a sticker/label picker. Most of the time I don't realize I'm doing it at first. Doesn't really matter what it is.

It sounds horrible but feels SO good.
Yes! It does feel amazing, doesn't it? You can feel all the tension building up in the joint and then when you crack it just feels great.

I'm glad I'm not the only cracker and popper out there.

@Ruaryx  You mustn't ever watch a movie with my brother. He hates people who make any noise at all. If anyone speaks during a movie he'll pause it, listen to what they have to say and then start the movie again. The first couple of times he listens politely, but after about the third interruption he'll start sighing and giving you a look that could peel paint while you speak.

He's such a chilled out guy most of the time, but all movies must be viewed in a respectful silence.

:deal:
Ohgod I do this too. If it's a quick comment about the movie that doesn't require an answer or explanation (e.g "wow, I never would have expected it was her", "Ouch.", etc) then it's fine. Anything longer than that few words, I'll pause and listen before resuming. :lol3:

SNORTLE!  My elder son used to be quite fluent in ASL.  A few years ago, when the hearing loss began really bugging me, I asked him to teach me some, just in case.  He informed me that the only thing he remembered how to say was, "I will sacrifice your soul to Satan."  I thanked him and declined, as it seems to me to have limited conversational value.  That's what happens when a normally-hearing teenaged boy learns ASL 'cause of the "cool factor."

Norachan and Fhicat, I'm a little like that myself, although after all these years I've trained myself to just watch movies at home, and to make sure if they are on TV I record them.  Then when my chatty friends go home, I can watch them undisturbed.  I once lived with a young lady who was blind.  Her best friend was sweet, but not overly intelligent.  I went nuts watching movies with them, explaining to one what was happening, and to the other why it was happening!

...with the cats...
probably that i talk about my cats so much. or talk about computer related things so much. oh, and talk about home improvements so much too. but honestly, i find many people annoying these days, and find that i'd rather just do my own things and enjoy the company of my cats -- who don't mind in the least that i talk to and/or about them, or the other things.

I would die of embarrassment.
