Any more babies? When my cat delivered, she was in labor about 12 hours that I know of, but it had perhaps started earlier (she was still a farm cat at my friend's place at the time. The same day her babies were born, they all came home to live with me). She has her first baby at 2am, her fourth and last baby at 7 or 8am, so they were all born within about 5-6 hours.

Is it normal for her to stop delivering after one kitten even though we can still feel more? She isnt in pain or anything

It's not unusual for kittens to be delivered hours or days apart.  So long as she isn't in distress all is fine.

Congrats Granny!  What a cute kitten.

That's because she still has more kittens to deliver. You can close her in the room with her kitten if you need to do something. Just reassure her as you move around.

Still no sleep for you?

Glad you got enough shut-eye to keep going. Bella is a very pretty name. Let us know when she has more kittens!

Yes. Mom can be spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old. She may or may not have a heat cycle before then. My cat went into heat when her kittens were 7 weeks old. I had her spayed at the end of that heat cycle, which runs about a week. The heat cycle was miserable, by the way. Do not allow her outside, or around any un-neutered male if she goes into heat.

The kittens can be spayed when they reach 2 pounds, which is usually around 8-10 weeks old. I had my four spayed and neutered at 12 and 13 weeks. They were actually around 3 pounds then. I took 2 in one week and 2 the next, just made it easier for me that way.

By the way, regardless of what the vet says, a lactating cat can be spayed. Some like them completely dried up, but it's not necessary. My cat was back nursing the same day she had surgery. She needed pain meds for about 3 days, and slept a lot, but still nursed, and continued to nurse until the kittens were a good 4 months old. I've kept them all!

Well, I'm very surprised to read that people get kittens spayed as young as 8 weeks, wow! That is only about 6 or 7 years old in human years! People I know who are very experienced with kittens say to wait until they are at least 5 months old, maybe even 6, 7 months old, as they are not mature enough to go into heat, and can't even get pregnant, until they are at least 5 months old. Also, do not separate the kitten from the mother cat until at least 9 weeks old, because it helps their immune system, and helps them to grow into more secure kittens, to be with mom  for as long as possible. My kittens were nursed by mom-cat until they were 12 weeks old. I realize some cats wean earlier though, but I would let mom cat decide when to wean, and not adopt kittens out too soon.

Momma cat is more then welcome to nurse them as long as possible. We are keeping all the kittens so i am not to worried about them being weaned by a certain time.

The vet came by to check on momma and her baby and it looks like she still has at least 2 more kittens. They are still moving around so he told me it could still be a couple days before she has them. Baby bella has already doubled her birth weight. Mommy has gotten her nice and chubby. From what the vet could see (jezebel let him look but not touch) but she is very healthy no fleas and a good pair of lungs lol

Sorry for the long post i am excited that she has done so well and i want to share it with all my fellow cat lovers
