My last cat suffered from it his entire life with numerous attacks. Now I have a spayed female and worry constantly about it even though she's never had a problem. I'm just wondering if females are less prone to the problem than males. Thanks.

From what I understand males and females are equally prone to FLUTD but due to anatomy differences males are more prone to obstruction.

It's the obstruction that worries me. After a half dozen attacks over the years with my last cat, I fear them most. It didn't matter what he ate, he got them every couple of years. His vet finally said a lot of his problem was probably genetic.
