Our 2 year old tabby boy, Howie, started an allergy diet a month ago for excessive scratching. He is on Blue Wilderness limited ingredients (duck and potato). He is doing great! He feels so much better!

We'd like to get (or make) a treat for him for Christmas. He does NOT like canned food. Does anyone know of an allergy friendly treat that we could buy, or a recipe we could make to make the day special for him too? [emoji]128571[/emoji]

Try 100% freeze dried meat or seafood treats. These are single ingredient treats. PureBites is a popular brand. It comes in a variety of different meats and fish so you can pick the one that is suitable for your cat. Most people buy the dog ones instead because the bag is bigger (more treats) and costs just a few dollars more. The treats can be broken into smaller pieces for a cat. There are many other brands you can find at the pst tore; Halo Liv A littles, Whole Life, etc.

A little plain cooked meat or even raw meat is fine.

Can you generally buy those at pet smart, or do you have to order them?

PureBites can be found at PetSmart and other chain pet stores. You'll find other brands there too as well. Independent pet stores will also have freeze dried treats.

A friend gave me a big box of Wellness Pure Delights, those have been great for my allergy kitty. Here are the ingredients in the turkey and salmon jerky...

"Turkey, Salmon, Dried Chicory Root, Dried Cultured Whey Product, Salt, Lecithin, Mixed Tocopherols added to preserve freshness."

I see they also have chicken and lamb flavor.
