Our girl just gave birth to five beautiful kittens December 1st. I just wanted to know if it is safe to give her tapeworm medication while she is nursing, or should I wait till all the kittens are older and do them all at the same time for fleas and tapeworms. I know they had them, but after the vet gave us meds I thought we kicked them to the curb. I know it's them bc I spied rice like things again. We're rid of the fleas, I think they maybe ingested a dead flea while grooming and I never can tell who's poo is who's. I would rather do them all and make sure there all free of them. I will be going with them all to the vet's for more meds anyways, figured I would ask if you all may know if its OK to wait till the babies are older.

In general tapeworm meds are mild and can be given to a nursing mom. It usually takes 2-3 doses spaced two weeks apart to get rid of worms due to their life cycle. But check with your vet to see what he/she recommends.
