My two year old Ragdoll has had quite a history with herpes, mostly affecting her eye.  We control it with Lysine in her food every day (around 800 mg daily).  When she flares, we usually see in two ways (1) one eye begins to squint (2) she becomes quite lethargic.   Since Sunday afternoon, she has been exhausted.  She put herself to bed (my bed) yesterday at 6 PM and didnt leave till 7 AM this morning.  She is eating, although very little, and using bathroom (both #1 & #2) albeit less than normal.    Does this sound like part of a herpes flare or something more nefarious?  I almost took her in this morning but when i brought her food in bed and a litter box, she stood up, ate and used the bathroom (was thinking a urinary or colon blockage).    Anything else that could produce these symptoms that requires vet visit?

I dont have any problem taking her to the vet, but it is very stressful for her and I would avoid if its just a herpes flare as I have anti-virals and Lysine.   Should also note this cat does not leave the house, eats Royal Canin wet and Instinct dry mix with her Lysine, and does not care for human food at all.

Any significant change in behavior warrants a trip to the vet, especially with her history and especially since this isn't "normal" for a flare up.  Sounds like she might be running a fever, so I'd get her in ASAP tomorrow.
