I actually have two questions.

First is in the last two weeks Lil Bit has decided she doesn't want the can food I am giving any more. I fed the Kittens what I could afford which was 9lives pate. They loved it. But now all she does is sniff it and go to the dry. I dont mind her nibbling on the dry but prefer her meals be wet food. Do they do this get burned out on a food? She is 8 months old and has been fed that in a variety of flavors since I brought her home at 6 weeks.

The second question is I got a kitten a week ago. He was a barn kitten and is coming along with being socialized. I can not get him to drink water no matter how hard I try. I was told he was 8 weeks old. He weighs almost 2 pounds. I feed him wet only because he really wont take dry. The only way to get it in him is when i feed him is I add extra water to the wet and he slurps it up. He actually doesn't want to eat the wet without the water. How do I get him to start drinking water and not have it mixed in with wet food?

Lil Bit sounds like a picky eater to me. My cats are too and did the same thing. They were doing great on Fancy Feast and Sheba pates one day and the next? Nope. They were done with it. Have you tried other brands? If you have not tried the Grreat Choice line from Petsmart, I would recommend that one (pates only though). You can also get 13 ounce cans of Friskies for $1 at Dollar Tree and that will feed multiple cats or be multiple meals for one cat if she'll eat food that's been in the fridge (mine will not). Tractor Supply Company has a line called 4 Health that is good too and it reasonable priced. I try to keep a variety of foods in my cats' rotation to keep boredom and pickiness at bay. I also use toppers like Pure Bites chicken treats but those are pricey. You can also use plain cooked chicken or turkey for this.

Most cats are not big water drinkers. It's not in their nature to be but if you want him to drink more, you can encourage it by freezing some no salt broth and adding the cubes to the water dish. The juices from a can of tuna work also. if he just likes his wet food with extra water though, I'd stick with that. It seems to make him happy and as long as he stays hydrated, it's all good.

Thank you so much. I had some coupons for some Purely Fancy Feast buy 3 get 3. Kroger had them on sale this week for 1.00 a piece so I got them for .50 cents a piece. I plan on trying the Abound grain free again with her. She loved them before. I pray she doesn't become to picky.

As for the little one I think he would eat any soft food right now.

I know this should be in a different thread but since Callie has been gone Lil Bit just seems sad. She has been missing for 3 days and can tell its really bothering her. How do I help her? Will it make her not want to eat?

Be careful with those Purely Fancy Feast as they are not nutritionally complete. They are more like an appetizer or a topper than a meal. If they like that, you might want to check out the Soulistic line from Petco. the Good Karma is one of my cats's favorite foods and it's very similar to those FF trays. Shredded white meat chicken in a broth like gravy. This one IS complete though. You can get a 3 oz can for $1.09 usually but it often goes on sale for $1. It's a good food. It's made by Weruva which is a high end brand.

If Lil Bit is really attached to Callie, it could have an impact on her personality. Just play with her more, reassure her that everything is OK and give her lots of pets and cuddles (if she likes that of course!). It could affect her eating if she's very sad but it shouldn't. Keep an eye on her, you definitely don't want her to stop eating. If she does, a vet visit would be in order. A cat can become very sick from not eating very fast.

If she needs to be encouraged to eat, you can do that with toppers. That's what I do. The Pure Bites almost never fail me and if for some reason they do, a little low sodium turkey breast from the grocery store deli sets them right pretty quickly. You can also cook a chicken breast, shred it and top the food with it. I like to roast a bone in chicken breast, use some of the meat and then add some of the warm juices and natural fat. They LOVE this.

The Purely Fancy Feast are suppose to be complete and balanced. FF "reworked" the Appetizers (which were not complete) and reintroduced the product as Purely.

Corrrect - The new Fancy Feast Purely foods are complete balanced diets
Purely contains vitamins and minerals. It was previously the Appetizers which were not complete diets.

I am so happy this morning. I got a couple of cat food choices and a can of sardines. She only ate a little of the sardines but she ate. When I got up this morning her dry food was gone. I fed her the can of Fancy feast chicken and liver and its gone. She is playing this morning too. I was getting scared cause she was just taking a bite here and there.

Today makes 7 days Callie has been gone. She has quit going to the door looking. I hope she is back to her aloof self.
