How did Mia's appointment go today?
She got her surgery bandage off, but the specialist wants to leave her feeding tube in for another week just in case, since she has only been eating for a few days.  I wish they had told me that when I called and they said I could bring her in anytime, before I left work early and drove an hour each way.  But at least her bandage is off, and I asked for a new sweater for her, since the old one was so stinky.  Now she has a fresh one.

I am glad that they are being cautious, that poor girl has been through a lot. How is her eating and pooping ?

Both are good!  The only thing I'm a little concerned about is that I haven't seen her drink water, but there is a lot of gravy in her food that she licks up, and I also have to flush her feeding tube with water twice a day.  She doesn't seem dehydrated, I keep checking the skin at her neck, she has been peeing, and the doctor today said that she looked good.

She still has a lot of weight to gain back though.

She's still doing really well :)

Thanks for asking!

I will be sure to post more pics when she gets her feeding tube out and sweater off on Wednesday.

Here's my boy Chessy or sometimes we call him Chester, he was such a good boy through all of this.

I am so glad that she is getting better. I was really getting worried about her, she has gone through so much. Chessy is a very handsome boy, I really like the picture of the two of them watching birdie movies.

Here's Chessy. He's had kidney disease since August and I just took him for a new blood test on Friday and one of his liver values was really high. He's a big love bug.

Chessy is such a pretty boy. He is a lovely color. I'm assuming high liver values are undesirable? Does he seem to be feeling okay?

Well he has always been vomiting every few days since he was diagnosed with kidney disease but it seemed to be more frequent last week. His ALT number was 199 and it's supposed to be under 100. The vet said she can't do a definite diagnosis without a bunch of other tests like we just did with Mia. Her guess was lymphoma based on his other tests and symptoms. She said we could start giving him a small dose of the same steroids that we give to Mia, and he hasn't vomited since. If he does have lymphoma I wouldn't want to put him through chemotherapy since he's 14 and has kidney disease also, so I just want him to feel better. His mood and behavior are normal.

I'm having problems with Chessy now after he has been on the steroids for 3 days.

I'm going to start another thread about Prednisolone.
