I am lucky to have stumbled across this site....I wasn't even looking for a Cat site, but am sooo glad that I did!

I am a single male, and a young 60 years old (OUCH That hurt to say...lol). I have 4 (2 female & 2 male) Inside Cats and 5 Outside. I will try to post a pic of the inside ones next time I come here. As with everyone else (I'm sure...lol) I am so proud of mine and cannot wait to share them with all of you! :D

*woohoo...people that won't mind hearing my  "Cat Tails...err, Tales"! :D *

OK so if 60 is the new 40, then 50 must be the new 30 so that makes me 25!

Welcome!  I was just as thrilled when I stumbled across this place.  It was like finding a new home!  Even my FB friends are grumbling about where I am...I'm here.

Such handsome boys you have.  I'm thinking that Sylvie is short for Sylvester, that well-known and -loved cat from the cartoons of my childhood (I'm two years older than you, so there!)?    And Lovey is...lovey.  And cute as a button, to boot.

You've certainly found the place to swap cat stories...everyone here will tell one at the drop of a whisker!  Being the Mama of a tortie (see profile photo), I have more than my share!  Can't wait to hear yours, as well!

Yes, it started out as Sylvester.....BUT. When he ran out to me as a very wee kitten from under my house, I thought "Sylvester", then I looked to try and sex it. It appeared to be female to me, so I cut it back to Sylvia. Time marched on, and one day I saw she was a he and had to change it once again. Soon afterwards I considered naming him either "No!" or "Stop That" or "Get down from there!". And any of those names are still apropos.

Lovey came to me from a neighbors house. His mother had no owner and one day I came home, walked to my porch, and there was this ugly duckling kitten, that its eyes were very infected totally shut-up and also its nose was totally closed up from infection. I have no idea how he found his way 150 feet to my house, unless he followed my Cats sounds, since he couldn't see or smell. So I went inside, got something to clean his eyes & nose...after I did and put him down he was SO loving that I said "You sure are lovey!"....and brought him inside.
He & I have a special attachment for sure! You can count on me posting stories of him! *smile*

I will post pics of The Girls as soon as I get a couple decent ones. They are Angel & her only child, Cherub. I didn't know until then that a Cat can have only 1 kitten!

Why, thank you!  Kind words about my cat is a sure way to make a friend.  Her name is Hekitty.  She's named for the Greek goddess, Hekate, but I just had to put the little twist into the name.  I think she's gorgeous, although she just went through a rough bout with fleas, courtesy my neighbor's dog, who ran in the apartment and took an hour to catch, so she's a little scruffy right now.  We're getting back to her usual lush, plush coat.  One of my friends came over and was petting her and told me, "You know, your cat feels just like a rabbit, she's so plushy."  I now refer to her as the cabbit.

No gallery yet.  I'll have to get on that.

I can't wait to see your girls.  Gotta love a man that loves cats.  It's in the rule book somewhere...or should be.

I have a theory that people who actually hate cats all have issues with control.  They can't control a cat, so they hate them.  My dad told me to never trust a person who hates cats.  It's ok to not care for them, or to prefer dogs, and no one can help phobias or allergies...but when they snarl, "I hate a cat" in that nasty voice they always seem to use...RUN!

Men that love cats are THE BEST hands down, no contest.

I totally agree with your theory. My mom hates cats. She'd NEVER hurt one but she she hates them because she thinks that they are sneaky. Even as a little kid (when I desperately wanted a cat), that reason made no sense to me and it still doesn't. It's totally a control thing IMO. Poor her. I feel so sorry for anyone who has never known the love of a cat. There's really nothing like it.

I agree also that Hekitty is gorgeous.
 Torties are awesome.

Awww shucks, Ladies. Ya'll are just sayin' that cuz it's true. LOL

I agree 100% about Cat haters. My Sister  has 4 big Standard Poodles that she rants & raves about, but let me say a single word about one of my Cats, and it's ALWAYS "I HATE CATS" (yes in that hateful tone) I sit here and listen to every story she tells, making very nice comments back, ask questions, laugh at their antics, etc, and she says THAT?!?! (Gee thanks, Sis)

I won't EVEN go into the stupid Cat hating woman across the street that has a trap and baits it with canned Catfood, and has her husband take any caught Cat out into the country and lets them out. GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You Ladies are so nice! Future Friends I hope!

~waggles fingers and makes "whooo.whooo" noises at hateful lady across the street and her husband~  I won't put the whammy on your Sis.  That wouldn't be polite.  I will hope that she changes her ways.

Dunno how nice I am, I calls em like I sees em, but I try to do it in a non-hateful way (that never accomplishes anything, anyhow), and I'm always up for a new friend, male, female, two feet, four feet...Friends are good to have!

That "male. female" remark I just made reminds me of my crazy friend, who when asked about how many children she has, always answers with a huge smile and in a chipper voice, "Why, three...one of each!"
