Cleopatra (Cleo) will eat anything and everything...unless it's healthy (tomato, lettuce, olives, carrots, pineapple etc.). She always eats her kitten food (so at least she's not addicted to people food), but when she meows, I swear she looks at me with her Cleopatra cuttie potootie eyes, and it's over. She's getting offered a little of whatever I'm eating. She loves french bread with a super small slab of butter (not that nasty It Doesn't Even Taste Like Butter Stuff). I have been giving her two quarter size pieces a day for about the past month, and I have observed nothing abnormal. She's about 6 months old, so she plays 24/7. I'm guessing that's why she isn't fat.

Some people give butter to their cats for hairballs,so that part is probably ok.  Also, many cats seem to like to  eat things like green beans, bananas, olives in particular because they have something in them similar to catnip.  As long as her "snacks" don't exceed 15% of her overall diet, she should be ok, nutritionally.

BUT, here is a list things that are known to be bad for cats:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/174854/101-things-that-can-harm-your-cat

So funny, I used to call Sara our garbage disposal. She used to lick the plates so clean we'd joke about just putting them back in the cabinet (really, it was just a joke!). Everything was game for her - milk, potatoes, pretty much any veggie (except corn, none of the cats liked corn), etc. Lucky was similar but she took the cake on being a garbage disposal.

Of course, then we learned she was a hyper-t kitty, and once that got treated, the garbage disposal personality kinda drifted away. She still like some things, sometimes. But nothing like before.
