New toy! This popped up on Amazon suggestions and it was so cool I couldn't resist. The Ripple Rug - Cat Activity Play Mat - Made in USA - Interactive Play - Scratching - Thermal Base - Multi Use Habitat

Fix for tt- 0059914573 (Not a good practice. Added to accommodate for Pantry brandbyline viewdapter) by SnugglyCat  .

Warning danger to humans trying to figure out how to arrange the touch points while receiving Cat Assist.

~enters a dsh tortie, singing~  "Happy happy birthday. we're so glad you came, happy happy birthday. you've lived up to your name!"
It's sad that each wonderful little anniversary we have with Mercy is marked by a sadder one marked by the one who is missing from our family. I see that ever expanding body with the ever expanding fluffy hair coat coming in and see the little Kitten who was beyond a stinker at that age. And then Mercy looks at me and it's all Mercy. What a mug that girl has. We are so lucky to have her in our lives.

The unnamed DSH Trotie gets a virtual share in the birthday treats.

update on the Ripple Rug. After totally ignoring it all day yesterday it has been the focus of al their play today. It is highly disturbing to watch as Mercy pulls the Velcro up on purpose and seems to rearrange the top rug herself.

I may have to get one of those.  Although I can see where it might be unsettling.  I get mildly creeped out when Hekitty uses her front paws as hands...there is something that is becoming very thumb-like there, and I can foresee a day when I'm on the floor, and she's on the sofa with the remote.  She sends thanks for the virtual treats, btw.

Kitten turned everything on and off. We would come home and find all the trays on the game consoles open along with the dvd player. In every room.

Mercy went into the bedroom this morning , Retrieved brown fuzzy trotted back out to the living room and put it in a hole in the rug and then hunted for a half hour. She shows a lot of the same thinking reasoning skills Kitten did. When Mercy is a bit more past the baby stage it will be fun to really work with her. She knows her name and comes or at least answers when called. Knows one finger tapping a surface means she should go sit there, One tsk. is enough to make her stop a behavior. And she's learned that human food is not her food. That was the hardest. I suspect she'd been allowed to graze. At her age all food comes from my fingers or her food bowl.

Mook is one big cat instinct , extremely high prey drive. She'll play fetch until she is panting.

I like that toy because it can be changed around. And when they get bored I can fold it up without needing a ton of storage space.

You've convinced me to order one of those rugs.  Paul and Chula haven't had a new toy in a long time - I hope they like it.  They had no interest whatsoever in their crinkly tunnel but hopefully this will be a big hit.

Wow. The cat cannoli here is pretty popular.  The only thing is learning to set it up.  kept going back to the Amazon review picture to get a better handle on it. The base is not real heavy but it's staying where I put it despite Mercy's mauling on it.  They initially couldn't leave it alone then the second day it had cooties. Now day 4 its something they're playing with. Looking through the reviews here for toys it is embarrassing how many of them I've bought. I got sucker written all over me.

You're not the only sucker.  I've got a whole pile of toys "saved for later" in my amazon shopping cart!   Thanks for the tip about setting the rug up.

You should do a review of this if you haven't already!  I'm planning on getting one in next month for Hekitty's birthday in April.  She's an April Fools baby.  And a tortie.  Oh Goddess, I should have known.
