Usually, when a cat refuses to eat food, it means they are not feeling well. Often, if a cat is sick, they will refuse to eat.
Sometimes, it could be from dental issues, or mouth sores, or sometimes from other things like URI's.
The dangerous thing is that if a cat refuses to eat, they can be in danger of developing 'hepatic lipidosis', or fatty liver disease...and this can damage the cat's liver.
Please, take your cat to a vet, @bhr0697. They are really the only ones, who can do a proper diagnosis, and help your cat.
I just wanted to second the advice to take your cat to the vet. Fatty liver disease can develop quickly and can be fatal. For those cats that do recover, it can be a long haul back to health.
There are some things you can do to encourage your cat to eat. Chicken or turkey baby food without onions or garlic often entices a cat to eat. You can also warm up food to make it smell more intensely which also helps encourage eating. Tuna juice is another thing cats love - I once got my cat to eat after giving her some to drink. You can rub it on your cats' paws and he or she will probably lick it off.
Good luck. It's always so worrisome when our kitties go off their feed.
