I couldn't resist posting this!

Some of us might panic when our cat gifts us with a mouse or chipmunk, but what would we do if they brought home a crocodile and dropped it at our feet? LOL

Flies, mosquitos, tiny geckos, my ankles, lazer beams, lints that are randomly blown by some air current, birds and pigeons that fly by the balcony, wrinkled pieces of paper, aluminum foil, anything that hits the floor, various toys during playtime (but that's part of the schedule), my sheets/blanket etc when I make my bed in the morning - he particulartly "chases" the wrinkled parts before I have the chance to stretch them and he actually tries to stretch them himself, my ponytail when he rests on my neck, my chargers' cables (he's already cut one in half), coins and last but not least he likes to knock down a small baby dragon figurine I own and plays soccer around the house with it. Thankfully the figurine is made of silicone based material so it cannot break.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of other stuff

Oh, if we're talking inanimate also... Oscar loves to chase my fleece blanket. He's pulled out little strings here and there all over it. And it's my special fleece blanket!

Chula goes after the charger to my laptop and a pull chain on my desk lamp. When she wants attention she sits up and waves her paws at me and if that doesn't work, she pulls the charger out. I'm not sure that qualifies as hunting but she doesn't really stalk anything.

My face, hands, ankles, balls of paper... I've spent over $50 on various toys and Pumpkin's favourite thing ever is a pump water bottle cap. She'll chase it before carefully carrying it around in her mouth.

We walk Makena every day the weather permits. Makena's biggest favorite is grasshoppers - he eats them like popcorn - racing and jumping after them. If given the time he will fill up on them and skip his dinner. He also actively hunts various rodents along the way (usually people like to see pics in threads, believe me, you don't want to see pics of that!)

Makena was a rescue who had a tough time of it for a long time, he was very aggressive when we first got him - he wanted to go after every cat or dog he saw. He is a big sweetie now and wants to make friends with other pets!

OMG! That video is crazy! The crocodile keeps trying to chomp the leopard's head, but leopard is amazing! What a beautiful cat.

Our kitty Sparkle has always been a great hunter. When she used to go outdoors, we would find poor dead mice and rats by the back door all the time. As an indoor cat now she needs a lot of play time since she still has the hunter instinct going on.

One night this summer after we moved, I heard the cats scrambling around in the living room. There was quiet, then more frantic running and sliding across the floors (we didn't have any rugs yet). I got up and they were both staring at an unpacked cardboard box. I woke up my husband and we figured out it was a mouse.  It ended up running across the top of both of my husband's feet. I was more freaked out than he was, but cats had a blast chasing it! We managed get it outside, poor little thing and told it, "warn the others to stay away!"

Hekitty is an indoor kitty, but she's death on the occasional moth or beetle that finds its way in the apartment.  And there was one wild episode when a young sparrow flew in that ended in both cat and bird knocked silly, crashing into a wall (both survived, sadder and wiser, I hope)

However, when I was a kid we had a huge gray tomcat (30 pounds of lean muscle, walked like a bulldog) who brought home mice, rats, moles,  birds, snakes, bats (yes bats, I don't know, either), baby alligators, rabbits, and, one memorable night, a baby fox, alive, O alive!  The fox went to wildlife rescue.

Absolutely,  He was a registered Russian Blue with a pituitary oddity that kept him growing till he was about three years old.  He topped out at just over 20 inches, and weighed (depending on whether he was home lounging or out tomcatting) between 27 and 32 pounds.  He was the terror of the neighborhood dogs.  One day a hunter showed up at our house, and said, "Hey, come look at what I got!  You know how your tomcat is always coming home all torn up?  I know why."  There, in the bed of his truck, was a beautiful smoke-blue bobcat.  It almost killed me to see it, but it answered a question...Gray was fighting the male bobcats for breeding rights...and WINNING!

My cat brought in a snake one day. It was just hanging from his mouth, all the way to the floor on both sides. He was dragging it around. That was scary enough for me!

My guys both love to chase flies. Also when I moved into my apartment it had a mouse. I saw him very occasionally scrambling across the floor, but I couldn't get him. Within 24 hours of getting Gabriel he left me two half-mice as presents. Thanks! RIP mousy. Also when Pythagoras came home from his kitten visit at the vet, where he got a rattly mouse toy, Gabriel was trying to teach him how to rip the head off of it, and he got extremely frustrated that the head would not rip off. I made him a mouse toy that I can put treats in that has a tail and the head attached with strong velcro so he can rip it off. (He's a kind and gentle soul, I promise.)

Beyond other actual creatures, they are torn between feather wands, one another, and for Pythagoras feet when under the blankets for favourite hunting target. Neither of them will ever attack human hands or feet when not under a blanket, but they seem to have no object permanence when it comes to feet and blankets. They have complete object permanence when it comes to what container the treats are in though.

Bud fancies himself a big, bad hunter, and I'll give him credit as far as insects go -- if something gets in the house, he'll hunt it down with laser focus. I've found tiny little smears on the walls in the summer where flies or mosquitos got in and Bud did the ol' squash and slurp.

He is hilariously inept when it comes to his fake mice and bees on wand toys, though. I love it when he tries to "hide" behind a corner, or the coffee table, or behind a half-open door, crouching down until the opportune moment to strike. If I'm dangling the wand and get distracted by something on TV, and he manages to tackle the stuffed animal at the end of the wand, he parades around like he's just earned himself a Glorious Victory and confirmed his status as alpha hunter of the household.

It's even more amusing because he has this high-pitched meow and basically sounds like a baby, especially when he wants something. Bud, the Mighty Hunter and Stalker and Slayer of Insects, who sounds like a six-month-old human infant when he's denied human food or told to get down from the table!
