Random set of questions for you:

Previously when I had cats I had a snuggler. Our Siamese mix used to sleep under the covers right next to me. The two older yellow toms didn’t have much to do with the kids but the Siamese mix did. Now I have Katherine my tortie with spunk. At night she’s taken to sleeping at the foot of the bed adjacent to me. So as far from me as possible. Any way to make her a snuggler? Or is it personality? I’ve noticed when she was a kitten she’d sometimes lay on my chest and purr a while, but not she only does that when she wants me to get up and feed her.  

Also notice that unlike my previous cats who slept all day or sunbathed all day, Katherine never seems to sleep unless she’s bored. Sometimes we play videos on youtube of birds which we watches for a while until she finally sleeps. Thoughts?

How old is Katherine? Is she just past kittenhood or older?

I think some cats like to snuggle more than others. Sometimes as cats grow out of kittenhood they become more independent. Some cats might feel they are too big to continue sleeping on your chest once they are full grown. All of my cats still love to snuggle with me but my male cat definitely also likes his "space" sometimes, preferring to sleep at the end of the bed or couch or sometimes even on the pillow next to mine rather than on my chest or in my lap like he did as a kitten. My female cats prefer to cuddle on my chest or lap all of the time, often they even fight for "the spot".

If you want to encourage your cat to snuggle, you could always try to reward her for it when she does. Try giving her a treat or praising her. When my cats do something I like I always say "good boy" or "good girl" and they seem to get the hint that they're doing something I like. You could always try to see if you pick her up and move her closer to you if she will stay and then give her a treat if she does.

i have notices when she was smaller she LOVED laying on your collar bone or chest. as a cat she doesnt get on me unless it's to wake me up to feed her.

She might return to snuggling as she gets older. Kittens like to be really close to you when they're young because it keeps them warm and is comforting to them but as they get to kitten adolescence they usually become more independent and want more space.

Sometimes the way cats snuggle is different from the way kittens do. Some cats think sleeping at the end of the bed is close enough and see this as showing affection, others want to be right by your side all the time. As cats get older they seem to be more likely to be lap cats.

My male cat who is just over a year old has been going through this phase where he didn't want to snuggle as much or be petted very much unless on "his" terms and spent more time wandering around the house doing his own thing and sleeping in high up secluded places but lately has been starting to cuddle up again on the bed and sofa with me.

My cats prefer to snuggle more or less during certain times of the day. At night they usually like to snuggle in the evening and sleep in the bed when I do but by 2 or 3 in the morning they are bouncing off the walls and playing with each other. My oldest is 1 1/2 and my youngest is 8 months.
