Hi I am trying to purchase a digital camera online from Walmart.  The thing is that it doesn't say if it includes a usb cord to connect to my computer or an adapter.

I don't know what an adapter is, do I need that and what purpose is it for.  I know I definitely need the usb cord.  If you're using your camera instead of your cell phones, please help if you can.  I just need to know exactly what I need in ordering this digital camera, thanks.

Mine came with a USB cord, it was from Walmart. What camera are you getting? I rarely ever plug mine into the computer, I usually just transfer the photos right to my phone that I want to share. Mine uses the same USB cord that my phone does, so I just use that.

I use an SD card to transfer from my camera to my laptop. I have blackberry connect so I just plug my phone into the computer with the USB/charging cord and drop pictures I want in.

My friend gave me pocket camera (sony) and I don't know how it works, so I went to store and asked  the Tech guy to help me. He said all I need is SD card and he showed me one time and now I know how to use it :-)

USB Cords are easy enough to purchase and can be gotten cheap if it really doesn't (it likely does). I'm wondering if adapter is reference to a card reader would be odd but wouldn't surprise me (had a computer with card slots got a better computer but needed a card reader ugh). But can you perhaps send or post a link to what your looking at?

Thank you all for the suggestions.  I do not have a smart phone and I only take pics with my camera.  My Olympus is having problems so I had decided to buy a Kodak online.

I wrote to Walmart and they answered me with what I will get with the camera and it is a USB cable and adapter etc.  Now I'm not sure if I want to order online or wait awhile.  My Olympus still works but I do have problems with it.

Oh, if you can afford it, go ahead and order it.  Christmas is coming up, and sure as God made kitty cats, the Olympus will go toes up just when you need it most.  The camera should also come with any software your computer needs to process the photos, or a link to the Kodak site for the download.

The "adapter" is most likely an AC adapter,  the electrical cord so you can plug your camera direclty into an electrical outlet and power the camera that way. AC adapters aren't very long so they're not all that useful outside of the house or anywhere that doesn't have electrical outlets. Soem brands of digital cameras may actually charge the battery while the camera is plugged into an outlet but most camears use regular batteries like AA so they're not chargable.

Here's what an AC adapter typically looks like:

Yes I did see what an adapter looks like, it works if you have a camera that needs to be recharged rather than batteries as you mentioned.  I would rather just change the batteries.  Don't know yet what I will do yet but I know I will need to buy one soon, thanks.
