These scabs/boogers wash off, but always return. We are taking him to the vet tomorrow, but are just wondering if anyone has had experience with this that may be able to lend some insight. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Looks very similar to what my cat Pushy gets. I pretty much have to wipe off his nose boogers every day. Oh the joy of being a cat mom! :lol3: He has chronic herpes with one of his eyes always running and that needs wiping every day too. However, that only started when he was 10, and he's always had lots of nose boogers every since we got him as a tiny kitten. The vet thinks he's got something going on with his sinus as he breathes noisily and snores.

Does your kitty have breathing issues or gunky eyes?

Could just be normal-for-him nose crusties. My other cat has them too, but not as much as in your picture.

Thank you for your help..... the nose boogers are very hard and hurt when trying to take them off, so I don't usually do that.  Are the boogers on your cat hard too?

He does get eye boogers, but not more than normal. For the most part, he doesn't snore just purs very loudly haha i'm just not sure what to think. Could it be herpes possibly?

Just normal cat boogers
You can have the vet check it out if you want but it's nothing to worry about. A gentle scrub with a damp cloth will remove the boogers.

They hurt to take off only because they are dried and stuck to his hair. Letting them soak under a warm, damp cloth for a few seconds first will help.

I know I'm a few years late to this thread, but my cat who is about 10 months old now has started to get the same thing but only in one nostril, I remove it and it comes back within a day or so. Im pretty convinced it is just dried nose gunk due to it now being spring time but was curious to see what your vet had to say when you took your cat in for this situation?
