Hello! I am hoping someone can help if they've experienced something similar. I adopted the most wonderful cat last year. Words cannot express how much I love my bundle of joy! I want the best for him. The best toys, the best litter box, best treats AND the best food!
Long story short I was able to transition my cat from FF Classics to Weruva to Ziwipeak. My cat never ate dry food and I kept a bag of Orijen dry food on hand just in case. He didn't eat much of it and the people who knew my cat at the shelter told me not to feed dry anyway as it is not good for my make cat.
So still having success on Ziwipeak. He also loves Applaws from the UK. As far as raw, my cat ate all flavors of NV Instinct Frozen Raw Bites for several months and then one day just stopped! I turned to Primal Pronto Frozen Raw Bites and my cat would not eat any of the flavors until at my wits end, gave him the pork frozen bites which he ate with gusto! Unfortunately, Primal made their "bites" noticeably larger in size and my cat would not eat it after several weeks of trying to get him to eat it.
I then turned to Rad Cat. He liked the lamb for the first week and would then not eat it. I read on this forum that most cats like the Rad Cat turkey so I purchased one. Again, first week my cat loved it but now he does something that is cute but also very frustrating: Whenever my cat dislikes a food, he'll do over to his bowl, try to eat it, then scratch the table near his food bowl as well as the floor by his food. I thought he was burying the food but in my case, he was showing me that he doesn't like what I'm serving. So he will try to eat it and then scratch the table...then he'll go back to the dish, smell it and continue to scratch the same table an floor. He brushes his tail against me hoping to get new food (which I always give in to).
I can't he the Alpha Malt as it breaks my heart to see him sulking because I won't give him new food.
Anyone else have something similar like this? I just love my cat and want him to eat the best food possible! Thanks in advance!

Why not try some toppers/treats to entice him to eat? Also I think its good to feed variety so there's nothing wrong with feeding ZP sometimes, Diff flavors of RC sometimes, and whatever else. Mixing it up will help the boredom, but i find any time i try and new topper/treat my cats eat their food much better.

Thank you so much for your advice. I don't think my cat is getting bored, though. The Rad Cat lamb and now turkey were introduced a couple of weeks ago. Ate the raw food passionately for a couple of days and then the started scratching the floor, snubbing the lamb and turkey! :-(
I read you posts recently when I joined this site. Your cats like the Rac Cat beef...I'll try that next. I wish Primal Pronto didn't change their formula and or size of raw bites. My cat was doing so great with the pork! Yes, I've tried adding treats or toppers but it doesn't work. I'll mix some chicken or beef Whole Life
Treats and I'm amazed how my cat can tell where the treats are mixed in and eat them only and then rejecting the raw food I buried it in. I'll keep trying but after after NV frozen bites in Duck, Chicken and Rabbit were gobbled up for several months and just rejected on day, and the Ptimal pork changing, I was hoping it would be an easy transition to Rad Cat. I have purchased 3 Stella and Chewey's raw bites, other Primal Pronto bites and NV frozen bites again. Unfortunately, my cat did those scratching/burying motions and does not like any of them. I'll keep trying as I love the way my cat looks and acts when on the raw food that he liked.

Hmm, yes my cats do like the beef (well, most of them at least). I have one very picky older boy that just isn't a good eater. I have to entice him with different treats all the time to get him to eat, and he'll only eat raw I make. He did eat RC for awhile, and then stopped. I think there's a balance between enticing them to eat and acknowledging that they don't like the food. I think sometimes the 'scratching and burrying' just means they aren't hungry right now, because my cats will do that but come back later and eat. It's all trail and error, though (sometimes an expensive trial and error). Have you considered making your own raw? Most of mine like the raw i make. I buy boneless chubs from Hare Today and just add alnutrin with calcium and done! I don't have a grinder and don't really want one because my cats aren't really fans of bone. I stopped adding organs because my older boy seemed to dislike the organs so i supplement with freeze dried. he also eats other food so I'm not worried about the food not being balanced.

Thank you again for your response! You know what I'm going through. Friends say I need to be tough...the "Alpha Male" but I tried and cannot discard what my cat rejects and make him wait till next feeding time. It's expensive as you know. I keep putting the frozen raw next to his Ziwjpeak hoping he'll eat it but after a few days of eating the Rad Cat he won't go near any freeze dried or frozen (defrosted of course) bites. Oy!!

I feel your pain for sure. But at least he likes his ZP so that's good! I also feed ZP and most of my cats like it, so you can feel good knowing that he's eating high quality food either way :)

Thanks so much for your good advice! I'll also see if the scratching and burying (which is the cutest thing AND also the most frustrating!) means he is not hungry and will eat later.
I'll keep you posted! Thanks again!!!
