My older ragdoll has some weird symptoms that I can't seem to match up with anything.

He vomited all the contents of his stomach this morning, and then a couple hours later he was hiding in a place he doesn't normally. I let him be for awhile, but then coaxed him out. He was interested in coming out, but halfway through the house he decided to hide in another dark, secluded area.

I checked on him, and petted him for awhile, he responded really well as he always does. His purring sounded a bit od, and he seemed like he might have still been having tummy issues.

Eventually I picked him up to see if he would be okay with sitting with me. I put him on my blanket and got him comfy. He seemed happy, but very lethargic. We sat for about 15 minutes, it was silent and calm. Then out of nowhere he jumps two feet in the air from a sleeping position and runs off to his hiding spot. I moved him back to his room and loved on him for a bit, and then tried to see if he would eat. He ate a couple of bites, thankfully. I left him alone for a bit, and then I just now let him out again. He followed me to my blanket and was in mid jump when he twitched and spazzed out again, out of nowhere, and ran off to hide. At this point, I'm rather worried, and I have to wait it out until morning at least, but if anyone has some ideas, me and my raggie boy would be eternally grateful.

Is he peeing ok? Pooping ok? Has he gotten into anything (eaten anything) weird?

I'd be concerned. He seems uncomfortable if not in pain. How is he doing? I highly recommend a vet visit if he's not better in a few hours.

I'm not much help but it sounds pain related. Whether that pain be in his tummy or elsewhere I don't know but him hiding tells me pain. Obviously you're planning to take him to the vet tomorrow, I would just try to keep him calm until then. His vomiting has stopped?

I am always concerned when a kitty is hiding and laying in new places.  I would definitely take him to the vet.  It sounds like he is not feeling well.  The hiding and going to odd places is a survival instinct left over from the wild.  A sick kitty is easy prey so they try to hide from predators.  It sounds odd to us but that is a deeply ingrained survival instinct that most kitties have.

I agree with taking him to the vet. Your instinct seems to be that something isn't right and I'd go with your gut. Older cats can have any number of problems (some small, some not so small) that have symptoms that you cat does. Better to go in and have a checkup, and possibly blood work and urinalysis.

And please, always trust your instinct. I took my 13 year old Sara in last Tuesday just because her appetite had been a little wonky. I thought I was being paranoid, but turns out she has an infected tooth, abscessed anal gland, and her T4 was through the roof.
