I give Reese a half of a can of food, on Sun and Weds, for a treat. So, the can is opened on Sun then refrigerated til I give to him again on Weds. I have done this his whole life but in the past 3-4 weeks or so, when I give him the refrigerated half, he throws up almost immediately.

What could be the cause. The only thing I can think of is maybe I need to start warming it up. I have always give it to him straight from fridge cause I figured if he didn't like it he would wait til hit became room temp but with him throwing it up now, should I start warming it up?? Or do y'all think it is from some other reason? If so, what?

Any thoughts, ideas or answers would be appreciated.

That's interesting.  Can you freeze the half he doesn't eat and then defrost it the day before?

Could be. A dog will throw up if they eat something too hot (don't ask how I know). I suppose a cat could throw up if what they're eating is too cold.

My cat throws up too but she is 13 years old. Has been throwing up for a couple of year. Vets say she has slight hyperthyroidism but the Hills Hyperthyroid food hasn't changed much. HELP! so sick of cleaning Barf.

If the food isn't working, then it's time for another Vet visit.  BTW, when you are feeding this special food, you cannot feed ANY other food, including treats, or it's ineffective in treating hyperthyroidism.  That being said, it may not be hyperthyroidism that is causing her to be throwing up.  You need to discuss exactly WHEN she throws up with your Vet (does she scarf and bark, or is it several hours after eating).  She may need to be on thyroid medication vs the food, and you may need to completely change her food to something different, because it's possible she also has food issues too.  It's impossible to know, having no history.
